Well Made Toy For Smart Dogs
My small labradoodle quickly figured out how to open the little compartments once treats were in there. But he's not too bright! I won't live long enough to see him learn how to punch the top of the toy to dispense treats. Very well made, grips floor and stays put for the most part. My dog has not tried to pick it up and toss it around. Quite washable. I sure wish my dog was smart enough to learn how to dispense the treats! Perhaps your dog is smarter.

It's just okay
I recently adopted a little black German Shepherd Dog puppy. She's a peach, and wickedly smart, which means she has to stay mentally stimulated. Smart dogs that get bored can get destructive. I keep an eye out for toys that are different, things that will make her think, so when I saw this I had to try it.It arrived in a nice box fully assembled. There's the base, the doors, and the top which comes off to fill with treats. It included an extra spare door as well. There are nail file pads you can stick to the top, or you can just use it without.Use is simple enough. You press the lid to move treats into the little chambers, then flip up the doors to access it. It didn't take my dog long to figure out how it worked, and it was adorable watching her smack the lid over and over to deploy the treats. The problem is she quickly figured out how to cheat the system. She discovered that if she flips the whole thing over you can easily dump the treats out of the doors and the lid will pop out as well, so the challenge is past. It took her less than a full day to figure this out. Last time I saw her using it she was tearing the doors off to use as small chew toys.Overall it's an interesting idea but it's too easy to cheat it. If you have a small dog that can't easily flip the device then this would be a good toy, but for larger dogs I do not recommend.

Probably won't replace grooming the dogs nails completely.
It does work to file down the nails -- at least a bit. Some dogs are just too smart and figure out how to get the treats without the filing effect, while others either enjoy it more, or are slower to "learn the trick of it".The puzzle board itself is good and solid, with the parts washable in the sink or in the dishwasher. We have a friend who has some bigger dogs, and they are quick to get the treats, and we have another friend that is a Terrier, and she seems to enjoy the scratching at it (may be a terrier thing?), and sometimes does not even take the treat after she gets it! I think she just is having fun! Will any of them ever use it enough to eliminate the need for trimming their nails? I doubt it, but maybe stretch it out to a monthly thing rather than every week or so? Yeah, I can see that working.

keeps my husky-shepherd mix entertained for a few minutes
This toy was a surprising winner for my 80 pound shepherd-husky mix. There are two puzzles to solve -- First, the dog has to press down on the top center piece, which causes kibble or treats to fall out of the center space and into the small compartments. Second, the dog has to lift the lid on the small compartments to access the treats. I've tried it with kibble and with chunks of parmesan cheese. By filling it with kibble, you can use it as a slow feeder of sorts.I'm not sure my dog has figured out how to depress the center yet. but she can get the treats out of the individual compartments. Most impressive -- nothing appears to be chewed up or damaged. Overall, I'm very impressed by this puzzle and have been using it almost daily to keep my dog entertained.

Not for large dogs
This is as pictured, but I am not convinced ours is over 11 inches square, it looks more like 8-10 inches. As the corners are rounded might appear smaller than how they are taking measurements. We have 3 dogs, from 114 lbs to 160ish, and none of them can use this. Their heads are just too fat to get under the little doors, as they are only an inch or so off the floor and don't have much of an edge for them to catch. My mastador has a pretty narrow lab face and even he couldn't get these doors open, much less my full mastiff. We will pass it on to my parent's golden retriever, but I am not sure she will be small enough either. It does say puppy, but I would say it should say medium to small dogs. It does feel fairly strong, I think mine could have stepped on it and it wouldn't have broken, but it is really not for bigger dogs.

A fun way to keep nails short
Got this for my mom's small dog and it took her a bit to figure it out. Unfortunately she figured out if she just steps on it with her 2 front feet it'll work. Eventually we got her to scratch it by holding the flaps down until she scratched at it. The treats do come out a little too easily so it doesn't last long but hey if you do it every day I can see it keeping their nails short overall.

It’s a puzzle
Have 3 dogs. Filled it for each. They all had a great time figuring out the food puzzle but I counted about 3-6 paws at the device per dog. Certainly not enough to shorten nails.

Great feeder toy!
Oh yeah this one is fun for them, the scratch nail pads give them some texture to understand the pressing of the top button. The food randomly shoots out so they have to find it, but the lids are very easy to open with their noses to get at the food. If you have a fast eater this will slow them down immediately.Great feeder toy and took all of 5 minutes for the doggo to catch on!

Fun treat toy but doesn’t help nails very much
The media could not be loaded. The openings in the toy are fairly large. All door openings open with each press of the sandpaper top so the dog doesn’t need to hit the sandpaper many times before all of the treats end up in the tunnels. I did see some scratch marks on the top but only 1 or two nails making contact after 2 series of too many treats eaten by only 1 of my dogs. It’s a great idea and would work better if the treats were a little harder to get into the tunnels.
