I saw a review of this case on the New York Times Wirecutter page and decided to give it a try for my new iPhone 16. I have always had Otterbox cases on my iPhones but I really don't like the design of the ones for the iPhone 16, plus they are really expensive. I rolled the dice on this Gripmunk case and after having it for a few weeks, I love it. It looks good, it protects my phone well, and the sides are definitely "grippier." I realize it is hard to make case that allows for use of the new Camera Button while also protecting the phone. The Otterbox cases were just open but this one has a thin strip to connect the sides and still offer some protection. I hope that part holds up over time, but so far it seems really good. The case snapped on with no issues and for the price, I really don't think it can be beat. It is certainly not thick and heavy, but I didn't want a thick and heavy case. I wanted something to protect my phone, give it some bump/drop/scratch resistance, and not be too slippery. This checks all the boxes and I am so glad I purchased this one. Kudos to Wirecutter for recommending it. They were spot on with their review and if I need an iPhone case in the future, I will happily look for another Gripmunk case.

The primary features I wanted in my next phone case was that it be non-slip and either transparent (for my white phone) so that I could find it easily on dark surfaces or in a dark bag, and reasonable cost. Good drop protection was also important. This case definitely has them all. It snaps on easily & can be removed without a lot of effort. The outer edges of the case have just enough texture and a bit of undulation to provide a secure grip. The buttons function well. The silver sides of the phone "glow" through the case, making the phone easier to spot even if it's face-up on a dark surface. The air pocket corners are a nice feature for safety. I've already dropped the phone a couple of times with no issues. Very pleased with the product & happy to recommend it!

This product offers epic phone case for the money. I've been using this case for my iphone for a few months now and after many bangs and drops my phone came out unscathed every time. I also like the materials on the outside which are a gritty rubber texture on the sides and a smooth matt feel on the back. Very easy to take on and off if your into switching cases while still holding the phone firmly in place. The buttons are clicky and I like how they cut out a nice size hole for the camera control button for ease of use. Overall win from Smartish I'm lovin it!

I had a clear Smartish Gripmunk on my old phone and loved it. I like having a colored phone but hate the idea of covering it up with a case. The clear case does the trick. The fit is perfect and the feel is perfect too - not sticky but nice and secure non-slip feeling. I like that it has a little lip in front of the front screen to protect it from a face down drop. It also has a little lip around the camera lenses on back as well. I paired it with a clear magsafe popsocket and all is good with the world!

Overall happy with the case. It doesn’t fit as snuggly as my otter box did but it does the job well. It’s doesn’t work well with my magnetic pop socket either. Pop socket falls off easily which is also an issue I haven’t had with any other case. Love that it has all of the button covers for the side buttons. The rim around the camera lenses could be a bit taller for better protection

I carry my iPhone in a belt holder and ordered both cases to try. Gripzilla is slightly bulkier, heavier duty and has reinforced corners. While Gripmunk is slimmer, it still provides robust protection for my iPhone and fits more easily in my belt holder. Both cases have roughened edges and detents for fingers to make the cases more secure in hand. As I plan to carry my iPhone in a belt holder, Gripmunk made more sense for me. But you can’t go wrong with either product as they’re both of good quality.

Tried this case based on an article read on Wired or Wirecutter (don’t remember which). Ended up putting them on both our phones. Overall this is a great case for iPhone 16 Pro MAX & the best iPhone cases we’ve owned. Features a slim fit yet still has multiple thumb groves & textured sides, to enhance grip. Works well with Apple’s 25W MagSafe Charger, 3rd Party magnetic chargers & magnetic stands. Also works well with PopSocket’s MagSafe Grip, something that’s not always true with some magnetic cases or a bare iPhone MAX. Tried Smartish’s “Gripzilla’ case which is also great but on the iPhone 16 Pro Max it was too bulky for FANAUE’s “Motorcycle Phone Holder” in my Jeep so went with this slimmer version.

I bought a clear case at the Apple store at the same time I bought my new phone. Unfortunately the case I bought was very slick. This case looks just as nice but I can keep a secure grip on my phone without any effort. Very nice, especially for the price! Can't say anything about how good it is if you drop your phone - hasn't happened.
