Worth the money.
This ballet bar replaced my wife's larger diameter, longer, much larger, double stationary bar which was a bit in the way since it stuck out too far. The design of this ballet bar is excellent. My wife and I love that it is adjustable, doesn't protrude out from the wall as far, is shorter, and is a tad bit smaller in diameter for her small hands. It is perfect for her needs. The bar is high quality, sturdy, and the finish is very smooth. It can be put up against the wall - either up or down - for storage and out-of -the-way, if and when necessary. It was easy to assemble and put on the wall, the spacing was perfect for the studs. It was a good value for the money. She loves it.

Buy Your Own Lag Screws
I wasn’t expecting the order to deliver until tomorrow but when it came today i decided to just go for the install. I had read some reviews talking about the screws and bolts. Those reviews were correct. Go ahead and buy you some 2” lag screws 5/16. Get 2 screws per bracket. You get different number of brackets based on the size you order. Since it was a Sunday i figured i would give the screws that came with it a try. The first bracket was a breeze and i thought i was home free until i got to the second bracket and stripped 2 screws. I was installing on the studs by the way. It was a perfect 16” apart so no worries for you there. They don’t give you extra screws so i decided to go with some lag screws. Once i went to ACE and picked up what i needed the install was a breeze. So do yourself a favor if you are mounting to studs and go get some lag screws. You can see in my pictures that the black screws with phillips head is what was sent with package. The ones i bought are silver. I measured my studs ahead of time and place painters tape where i needed to install so i was ready when they came in. I got 2 sets of 6ft bars which have that additional bracket in the middle. The bars put together very well and easy. The lag screws created a very sturdy bracket for us too. I’m going to order 2 more pair of 3ft for my left side of the wall so i can install a little lower for the little sister. I bet i have my screws ahead of time though. ha. The height adjustment seems easy. I tested it several times. Just pull the pin and set the height. This is a good thing if she gets taller. Yeah, don’t bother with the instructions. Just put the bar together first and the measure how high you want to install the bars. We went 45” for the top and 35” for the bottom one. The adjustable bracket will help us go up or down. Daughter approved too. She can do all her stretches and now we don’t have the floor standing one all in the way.

Its fine. I just put 3 stars because, I think the instructions sheet you be 1) in large page (pucture show the paper size compare to a small matchbox), and also more detailed, steps by steps. Also this barre should be pre-drilled to allow the small screws to go all the way in. One of them broke in the process.

Sturdy and Stylish, but Pin Installation Was Tricky
I’m using this adjustable ballet bar in my toddler’s playroom as a balance bar. The bar is sturdy, and I love the matte black hardware, it looks great and feels durable. However, I struggled quite a bit getting the pin into the hole to hold the bar up because the internal hardware blocks the opening. I’ve included a video to show the issue. Once in place, though, it works well.

Plastic sucks.
Pretty awesome, easy to install, didn’t have any of the issues I read in the other comments. I’ve had and been using it since September and it’s been great. But please tell me why the locking mechanism to adjust the height is made of plastic! I just had one of them break, shoot across the room and break a decoration on another wall. Everything else is solid, the wood, brackets, bolts, all good. But the locking mechanism is plastic and now I don’t trust the bar to hold weight and I’m stuck trying to figure out a replacement for a very specific part.
