Dino rage
The Lego Jurassic park sets are irresistible to us and we have collected quite a few by now. We already have several parts of the enclosure/encampment and more gates are very welcome given out growing dino herd. Sadly for the minifigures its very hard to keep the reptiles out as most of the walls and gates have weak points..!. This 289 piece set gives you an new, not too big Dilophosaurus, that tend to escape & come back in again all the time. I’m not an expert in the palaeontological field, my 5 year old son is, so it’s hard to comment on the dino, but he sure looks like menacing carnivore to me. There is also a cute baby dinosaur in the set in a crate that can be lifted by the crane. The 3 included figures are somewhat generic trackers/guards, of which we need quite a few. And its good that there isn’t yet another Owen in the set.The build of the set was quite satisfying to my junior resident brick constructors and required little assistance from me. There is a somewhat flimsy basic, 13 cm high watchtower and a crane. The three sections of the outpost connect via clips. And can be interchanged. Other than the watch tower there is not much I can fault this set on. If you want more fence, more guards, it might be worth picking up several of these sets.I must say I quite appreciate Lego playsets such as these, as they offer lots of play value with some functionality and display well. All in all it triggers the imagination and lets children play for hours. As always with Lego the set and packaging is of high quality, the instructions clear, the brick durable and versatile. This set combines really well with other Dino sets but you can make it part of any Lego layout. The included Dilophosaurus has already attacked some of the annoying residents of our little pink Lego Friends town! Anyway Lego more than most toys stands out mostly because it brings together children but also their parents to build and play, brilliant, quite something in this digital age!

Lego
The inner box was very squashed but I am sure my Grandson won't notice that when he opens it on Christmas morning.

Poor value for money
Not great value for what you get, just 3 fence units which are very loosely connected together, not even enough to even make a pen so various other lego items needed to be added in order to make it an imaginative playing experience for the child to pay with.
