We Happy Few (PS4)

I wanted this game ever since it came out purely based on the trailer.My son had a free trial on his Xbox and the following day I decided to buy it for myself on the PS4.The graphics are different from your usual games and the story is captivating. It is easy to navigate your way through the missions and side missions. Definitely give it a go

Okay, to start off I got this for £19.99 my views would be very different if I had paid full price on the day of launch.First off, the graphic engine is glitchy, as you explore the environment there are times when the textures or even whole objects slap you in the face as they pop into existence. An unforgivable feature by current industry standards. Although, it has to be said, I love the story and I found the humour that accompanies it suitably quirky. It does feel like a cross between Monty Python and The Prisoner. It feels very 60s British kitsch but with a dark element to it that I found compelling. The crafting and survival element are pretty standard and without the setting or story I wouldn't touch it because the gameplay alone just isn't enough. It is Marmite!

I’m about half way through it as far as I can tell. It’s good fun, with lots of skill upgrades to help you with the difficult bits. All this from a game which was crowd supported. Happy days!

Fab game, can be a bit glitchy though!There are three storylines which have very different play styles. Interesting ideas throughout!

Was so excited for this game to come out, it had so much potential, feels like an unfinished product for full price.Bugged out after about 8 hours and corrupted my entire PS4 save data so had to do a restore.Stealth mechanic is absurd, just run and hide in a bush/ bin every time you're discovered, no way of avoiding it really.Taking joy to blend in ( you know the whole point of the game) is pointless as it lasts about 10 seconds, and then you get chased around for 10 minutes until you can find a bin to hide in.Loading times are insanely long to add insult to Injury.On the plus side the trade in value is pretty high still so you can get rid of it.Avoid at all costs!!!

i played this as beta on pc and so was waiting for it a long time its a great game with the recent updates it works great

'We Happy Few' is, to put it frankly, a missed opportunity. The concept and the world are fantastic, the graphics and setting incredible but it doesn't quite come together. The cities never really feel like anything but faceless streets and the harshly punitive 'Joy' meter means you never feel comfortable exploring. The few tantalising moments where you feel you are going to finally be plunged into the world never come to anything. Beautifully scripted scenes are disappointingly cut short in a bizarre fashion, and all stealth and skill forgotten up to that point. This leaves the player feel they may as button bash there way through each mission.The shame, of course, is there is an awesome game somewhere hidden amongst the confusion. Is 'We Happy Few' a survival game, a puzzle, an RPG, a crafting game? It never quite decides, and as a result, the player is left scratching their heads.If 'We Happy Few' can be sharpened and polished, if it can decide what game it really wants to be, if it can left the player feel they are really part of the world; then the fascinating backdrop and story would shine through and this game would have the potential to be among the best.

We Happy Few is a beautiful looking game, with a genuinely brilliant story. Unfortunately a couple of quests/side quests have bugged out and won't trigger. There is also a few frame rate issues and while there have been updates to resolve some issues there is still so many. Hopefully we will have a few more updates and We Happy Few can live up to its full potential.

Als ich den Anfang von diesen Spiel in Youtube gesehen habe. Wollte ich das Spiel spielen. Es gibt die sogenannte Deutsche Version habe Fsk 16 und die original englische 18er PEGI Version. Damals hatte ich in Internet nichts gefunden ob ein Unterschied ist oder nicht. Dann habe ich auf Risiko gesetzt und habe die Englische Version gekauft.Die englische Version hat auch Deutschen Untertitel so wie die deutschen 16er Version. Die Trophäen sind auf Englisch mit den kann ich leben.Jetzt zum Spiel.Das Spiel ist in 3 Akten eingeteilt.Achja ganz am Anfang nehmt mal die Pille.Das Spiel spielt in England in den 1960igern. Die Einrichtungen der Häuser ist voll mit den Designer Möbel.Die Atmossphäre ist ziemlich gut gelungen.Das Spiel hat 2 Grundseiten entweder bunt fröhlich wenn man sich mit den der Droge Joy zudröhnt, oder düster wenn man nüchtern bleibt. Nur leider hat Joy paar Nachteile und Nebenwirklungen. Aber wie man in Spiel sagt Ohne Vergangenheit ist man Glücklich.Die Nebenquest sind sehr unterschiedlich und manchmal ziemlich lustig.Der Englische Humor wird hier Groß geschrieben.Man muss alles mögliches Sammeln und man kann damit Craften und/oder Verkaufen. Am Anfang habe ich mich ein bisschen überfordert weil es gibt kaum eine Anleitung dafür, aber mit der Zeit geht das schon. Es gibt viele Rezepte im Spiel.Man kann sich entweder durchschleichen oder durchbrügeln, wobei das zweitere manchmal schwierig wird weil die Bobbys immer mehr und mehr kommen wenn man das in der Stadt macht.Das Kampfsystem ist leider nicht so ausgefeilt, wann gewinnt immer mit den gleichen Kombi.Achja, vergesst auf keinen Fall die schwebenden goldenen Masken zu nehmen. Sie erzählen dir die Vergangenheit.Leider, sind auch paar Bugs. Eine Nebenmission habe ich nicht abschliesen können weil ich das Teil nicht anklicken konnte und wenn ich zu lange gespielt haben ist der Ton zu komisch verzerrt geworden wenn Arthur geredet hat, dies hat sich aber mit Neustart bzw Ortwechsel gelöst.Ich muss aber die extrem langen Ladezeite bemängeln. Die sind manchmal.. ok ...öfters ziemlich lange.Leider habe ich vergessen zu notieren wie lange ich das Spiel gespielt habe und einen Counter habe ich leider nicht gesehen. Ich schätze mal zwischen 25 und 30 Stunden. Ich habe nicht alle Collectable Sachen gesammelt und eine Nebenmission mit Arthur habe ich nicht abschließen können wegen eines Bug.Im März 2017 verkündigt das Gold Circle Film, Pläne hat um dieses Spiel zu Verfilmen.Da bin ich mal gespannt.Dieses Spiel wäre fast in Australien verboten worden. Aber in Juli 2018 wurde diese Spiel doch freigeben unter der Begründung die Drogen haben eine künstlerische Bedeutung und mit dem sogenannten Vermerk in der Beschreibung "Fantasy-Gewalt und interaktiver Drogenkonsum" versehen.Es ist hat kein AAA Spiel. Compulsion Games hat in meinen Augen ein recht gutes Spiel abgeliefert.Aber großen und ganze ist es kein schlechtes Spiel. Wer dystopischem Setting mag und eine recht originelle und in meinen Augen wenn man zwischen den Zeilen liest, sehr kritisches Spiel ist sehr empfohlen das Spiel zu kaufen und zu spielen."Und die heilige Süßkartoffel sei mit euch"Wenn diese Rezension hilfreich ist, wäre ich über ein "nützlich" sehr dankbar.

Das Spiel sieht gut aus und hatte am Anfang eine vielversprechende Story. Aber nach einpaar Stunden kam ich zu der Realisierung das es immer das gleiche gameplay und questing ist. Keine Variation oder immersion im Spiel. Es ist voll mit bugs und glitches. Ich habe es für die PS4 gekauft und es ist BROKEN. Ich wollte es wenigstens zu Ende spielen sodass ich eine volle Meinung bilden kann, aber selbst das ist unmöglich denn es hat mich 7 MAL AUS DEM SPIEL RAUSGEWORFEN. Crashing game und die verlangen auch noch 50 Euro dafür?!?!?!?!?! Eine Blamage... Echt peinlich und völlig unakzeptabel.
