It was easy to install, it seems sturdier than the original base, and it saved me from the expense of having to replace the entire chair. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

This did not just fix the old chair, it improved it! The old chair had a plastic base and all plastic wheels. After about 6 or 7 years of use, one of the wheels kept coming off. This base glides over the tile in my office. The hydraulic chair lift works like a dream. I will be buying at least 3 more to improve existing chairs. Bought this to facilitate the addition of wheels to the (in)famous criss-cross chair, unwheeled variant. I can confirm it's a perfect fit as expected for any chair that sits upon a "universal" 2in. diameter gas cylinder. Added five 7/8 x 7/16 stem rollerblade wheels (also regarded as "universal") and I was off the the races! Never mind that I'd just spent $50 to hot-rod a $60 chair. I am not an intelligent man.
