This was a replacement purchase (I misplaced my last copy somehow). I and my husband adore Air (but then he's French and I have French genes - plus, being of that era, like 80s/New Romantic-feel, atmospheric, hypnotic/chill-out tracks yet with a modern, timeless, innovative twist - so we would). It's great music for any occasion - car journeys; evening parties incl. outdoor summer BBQs; falling asleep to (or - cough! - not falling asleep to); or just sat doing nothing but listening to...In a nutshell, I don't think it's too far-fetched to say these two French blokies are musical genii.Oh, and they came well packaged, bang on time, and pristine condition, as well.

Firstly it is not the introduction to Air - this would be "Moon Safari". But is a close second and after several listening is in it's own way better. This is because it is crafted with experience of their other recordings.It seems to have more depth as the smoothness of "Venus" eases into the delightful "Cherry blossom girl" which will pick up your spirits and mood. Then there's "Run" which seems slightly irritating on first hearing, but it does grip if you relax into it. "Universal traveller" is another trippy chic French mood maker."Mike Mills" is probably weakest and plodding as it is over complicated to be cool. But again bang "Surfing on a Rocket" explodes and drives along and at last we have some electric Base and is as catchy as "Cherry blossom girl". "Another day" puts your feet back down on the ground and allows relaxing again. Then "Alpha beta gaga" slips away to get you whistling along.Well "Biological" is a surprise as it starts low key, then the Japanese instruments takes it in a completely different direction - this is extremely clever and unique. The complementary pair to "Biological" is the last track "Alone in Kyoto", which very gentle and colourful.To sum this album up "it is a series of ebb & flows" and each track complements the last. I have listened to others like Royksopp which are as good in their own way, but Air has the edge I think - buy this album with "Moon Safari" as well.

firstly i should probably say what kinda music i like: most things!and this is one of those rare albums which is amazing - every track is wonderful. this album, like moon safari, does not disappoint....and i dont really see a massive change in styles - its different to moon safari but its not so different that you would only like moon safari OR talkie walkie.i only got it this morning and ive now listened to it through 2 times and it is amazing. it has the beauty of cinematic orchestra but with air's unique electronica feel - a calm and masterful piece of work.

I love love love Air. I bought this a gift for a fellow Air enthusiast...this CD has fewer of their maim hit but still features their usual sound. We have both listened to this CD on numerous occasions.

Good songs written by some french blokes.

Got this for a friends birthday present as I like it so much. not a bad track on the hole album and it makes you Audio system sound fantastic. highly recommended.

Bought to replace older formats of the same album in my collection - it was always going to get 5 stars!!

A fantastic album music wise and in terms of pressing and mastering quality it's stunning. Huge soundstage, dead quiet and fantastic dynamics. I'm honestly shocked at how incredible this sounds. If you want something that will show non-vinyl listeners why it can be better than digital, this is it.
