Brilliant fun
This is another DVD choreographed (although not presented) by Gareth Walker, and if you're already familiar with his other M.O.S. workouts you'll know what to expect. This is quite dance based, but there are two options, one for beginners/intermediate and another for advanced, whichever you choose they both provide a good cardio workout. Where these are head and shoulders over the likes of Davina's DVDs is in the routines. As you're going to have to learn and perfect them they don't get dull, and you feel a real sense of achievement as you improve. You have to stick with these to improve, but they aren't so tough you can't pick them up fairly quickly, and you don't need to be a professional dancer to grasp the moves (they might not look quite as impressive as the girls in this DVD, but my 'ripples' are definitely getting better!). The toning and abs sections are also excellent and sure to whip you into shape. The soundtrack is fantastic as always, there is no better music for working out. Maybe the best 'Pump it up' so far, certainly the most fun.

If you're a Deanne Berry devotee you will be disappointed
I bought this after enjoying the Pump it up workouts led by Deanne Berry. I am a Berry convert and a Davina fan, by and large. This Pump it up is a different animal and I thought that I would give it the benefit of the doubt. This DVD has many positives and the negatives are due to my personal preferences rather than anything technically bad. This routine is more dance than aerobics led and I mean dance due to the heavy choreography. The warm up is very manageable but the later workout is very difficult to follow if you lack a natural dance aptitude. The cueing is excellent and thorough: the moves are explained clearly but when it comes to co-ordinating the moves with the high energy music it is easy to become unstuck. Admittedly, I have only tried this once and I could only just master the footwork. When I tried co-ordinating the arm movements with the footwork I ended up flailing about like an idiot. I think that this workout will get easier with time, if you are committed, but I reckon it is too easy to be disheartened.I didn't work up much of a sweat mainly because I could not keep up with routine and perform it with the gusto it deserves. The comprehensive Abs section is more challenging than other MoS DVDs. Ditto the stretches performed before and after the workout. My main quibble is that you can't custom build a workout and you have to run through the whole thing but I guess this is a minor detail.Ultimately, this workout, in my opinion, is not as fun and far more complex than the Deanne Berry workouts. It will suit people who are interested in and have a natural aptitude for dance. It won't replace my favourites but I will possibly have another go in the future. If you fancy a challenge go for it but if you have limited co-ordination then you may want to think twice.

The best fitness DVD I've ever owned
Om pretty fit and have a good selection of workout dvds, mainly celebrity ones (Davina,Nell McAndrew) However I was getting board as they all follow a similar form.I went with this one as it was cheap and fancied something different. When I first started,I hated it as I didn't understand the moves and was getting frustrated not being able to master the moves. Two months on I love it! Its really challenging and I like the fact you can pick and choose your workout. It leaves Davina and co for dust.I've stopped using them.Once you get into it ,it you don't feel like your exercising, which is a good thingIn two months,I've lost inches all over and my stomach and legs have never been so tight and toned.Buy it,but don't expect to learn it in a few days.It takes time and practice.

A perfect combination of dance and effective body shaper moves
I am an intermediate exerciser and this DVD is suitable to my level and advanced. To buy this DVD you have to be coordinated and have some background of dancing classes. You don't have to be a dancer to do this because the steps are not hard but you have to learn them pretty fast. The toning segment is easy to follow but hard enough to shape your body especially abs and legs. The workout is fun and effective and the music is pretty good. The teacher is very good and does perfect queuing. To me the only downside is that the steps are broken down at a good pace on the right side but on the left side the steps are not broken down at all.She assumes that if you learn it on the right side you would know that on the left is just the same. Indeed the steps are the same but to me it is pretty confusing to do the same on the other side. Now that I done the DVD about 7 times 4 times the intermediate and 3 the advanced it is easier to follow but I still make a lot of mistakes on the left side. The workout is effective even if you don't get all the steps the first times.I really love what this workout does to my legs and midsection, the arms get toned too but because you don't use any weights it is less noticeable. My final grade is four stars because overall it is exactly what I was looking for, an effective workout with good music and dance moves.

Who'da thought working out would be this fun?!
I bought this DVD after reading many of the existing customer reviews. People either said it was really good, or too complicated. So I saw it as a challenge! I think other workout DVDs can be too repetitive and dull, and make you feel like you're working very hard and very miserably because that's the only way to get fit. But try this DVD - it's so much fun, and half the fun of it is that you won't pick up all the moves or routines straight away and and so you'll keep coming back to it until you've mastered them! It's the kind of workout I look forward to because I want to keep getting better. The challenge of the complex routines is what makes it so rewarding when you can finally do it and start to dance (just a bit, maybe) like the girls in the video. Stick with it, don't give up just because it goes too fast. It'll be really enjoyable once you've got past the confused flailing arms and stepping on your own feet phase, I promise.
