Nice version of the classic Nerf Blaster
I've purchased all three Longshots: the original, the Zombie Strike, and the Nerf Elite. This by far is the best one stock from the factory. It comes with the usual scope, mainly for cosmetics. It comes with a 12 dart clip and other Nerf magazines will fit as well. The barrel has an adapter that accepts all Nerf barrel extensions including the new Modulus line. Yes the gun does jam like every Nerf clip system does, mainly when improperly primed. It must be primed all the way back and then all the way forward in one smooth motion. My 5 year old found it more difficult to complete so he usually finds his easier Nerf guns to do battle. There is plenty of potential for after market mods. Longshots were the first blaster I ever took apart and put back together which took some getting used to. They also require maintenance after seeing a lot of battles, if you want to maintain the dart velocity. Other than that, it's a really great blaster. Wouldn't recommended for smaller children that lack the strength for the priming bolt action.

BIG & AWESOME!!!!
I am a ten year old boy. I just got this gun yesterday and so far it's been an awesome gun. At first the scope was a little hard to slide on and off, but once I got the hang of it, it worked fine. Actually, this review is four and a half stars because the top of the bullets got ripped off of three already, and I don't know if it was because the bullets were weak, or the gun tore them up without me knowing. The gun has only gotten jammed once in all the times that I used it when me and my dad went "dinosaur hunting." The gun is a little bigger than I expected it to be (a good thing!). It is twenty six inches and twelve sixteenths long, but if you shorten it, which you can by clicking a button forward and sliding the back grey part of the gun forward, it is twenty three inches and twelve sixteenths. The gun is thirteen inches high counting the scope and the magazine. Without the magazine and the scope the height is five inches and thirteen sixteenths. The gun can also use extra zombie strike bullets, of course. I haven't tried it with elite bullets or any other color bullet. (Sometimes that matters.) The scope is really good. Sometimes the darts go a little under where you are aiming, or to the side a little bit, and some other times it's just right. THIS NERF GUN IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU WANT A GOOD GUN GET THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent indoor winter weapon!
This made for a very happy Christmas. My son wanted a Nerf gun desperately, but I was waiting fit the right one at the right price. I read a zillion reviews of I don't know how many guns before I decided on this one, and it as exactly the right choice. He's been carrying it around whenever he can, shooting at the doors (the only targets he's allowed to shoot in the house), saying over and over it's the perfect gun for him, how did I know....It did jam once, when he first started using it, but he's pretty sure the magazine wasn't in properly. Once we got that sorted out it's been working perfectly (knock wood) and he loves it. Can't wait for spring and real battles!

... gun is okay i mean its not Too Too BAD. But
This gun is okay i mean its not Too Too BAD. But, the name of this gun is LONGshot its supposed to be shooting a far distance but instead it shoots a very short distance. Maybe it should be called short shot. One other thing that annoys me is this gun jams a lot! And when i mean a lot i mean a lot my long shot is totally ruined, because of a jam. Even though this gun is very bad its very accurate well from a short distance. I would not recommend this gun for 6 and under because the blaster is pretty heavy, and big. Overall, i would buy this blaster for 26.99 but now at 40 dollars not worth it. Its your opinion if you want to buy it or not but i would not recommend i would buy a different nerf gun using that 40 dollars. You could buy Raptor strike of something.

A great first blaster!
(This review comes directly from my college-aged Boy #1, a long-time Nerf connoisseur.)This Nerf blaster is a re-shell of my favorite Nerf blaster of all time. While the performance is slightly under today's Elite standards, it is still a fun, enjoyable, and extremely mod-able blaster. While the gun does not feature the Longshot front gun of old, it is not missed. My main complaint is the placement of the front bi-pod, especially when the bi-pod deployed. With the bi-pod extended, my hand wants to naturally go right in front of the magazine will under the gun. This makes holding the blaster difficult and somewhat awkward if your arm naturally wants to go to the front of the barrel. However, with the advent of 3-D printing, a quick solution can be easily made or purchased. My other complaint with the blaster is the absence of two plastic inserts on either side of the magazine well that makes loading and unloading faster and smoother. However, to the casual Nerfer, I do not believe this will be a problem. The included 12-round magazine features a transparent side, so your remaining darts can be counted quickly at a glance in the heat of battle. The included scope, although not functioning, adds a nice cosmetic look and "sniper" feel to the blaster. Now on to the mechanics. The Longshot's plunger system is largely hailed (by me at least) as one of the best ever in Nerf's history, and the bolt action is extremely fun to cycle and send foam flying.

We enjoy it!
My son just loves these Nerf guns. I bought this one for a sale price at Christmas time. I had absolutely no idea about the size as I didn't look at the specs but it was a lot bigger than I had expected! I'm not complaining. Even at full price it is worth the money. My son is only 4 but he can use this gun easily. Removing the magazine is simple with the touch of a button and reloading is even easier. It has an extra space for another one in the back part too so it fits lots of darts, including the plain old blue ones that are not included. The ones included are a bright green color and pretty neat. The scope works too. Overall we are very pleased. My son calls himself a 'pro zombie-getter'.
