All these things make it almost impossible to make fine adjustments. Nice idea but terrible execution
the size is right for changing the depth of hinge mortise on cabinet face frames, which is what I wanted it for. The problem is that there is way to much slop in all mating surfaces. Cutter has to much play between it and block it goes through, knurled adjustment knob has over 1/16 inch gap where it engages the cutter and the pitch of threads between the adjustment wheel and the threaded rod are also very sloppy. All these things make it almost impossible to make fine adjustments. Nice idea but terrible execution.Update: I used a old set of feeler gauges to tighten up the cutter in its housing, .008 in front of cutter and .007 on one side. then I used a 1/4 inch flat washer to tighten the gap between the adjuster wheel and the cutter. Also filed down the burrs that were on all the edges of the cutter slot. Now all I need is to keep an eye out for a threaded rod and adjustment wheel with tighter threads. But the way it is now is very acceptable

Not as high quality as expected.
The bottom was quite rough. I ended up having to machine it to make it smoother. It would have been better if the factory grooves went in the direction of travel.
