Cote D'OrDark (86%) Brut Chocolate Cocoa, 3.52-Ounce Bars (Pack of 10)

It's kind of flavorless but at least it doesn't taste rancid like most american brands.

The Cote D'or Dark 86% Brut Chocolate Cocoa, 3.5-Ounce Bars (Pack of 10) is close to the worst chocolate I have eaten, if not actually the worst. It has just about no chocolate taste. It's not spoiled, it's not rotten, it doesn't smell like skunk or anything bad like that. It's just plain tasteless.Unfortunately, Amazon's return policy doesn't allow grocery items to be returned. I have e-mailed them, and unless they let me return it, I don't plan to buy food from Amazon in the future.

I am a little frustrated by review below indicating Amazon is somehow responsible, b/c the reviewer did not like the taste of the food. How are they going to resell food...re-apackage it? Offer a discount- "used food"? 86% Dark chocolate is not sweet. It is not for everyone. That said it is wildly popular in Belgium, you can't turn around without running into it or Milka. And, from what I've heard/seen, Belgians know a little bit about chocolate. Try before you buy or deal with the consequences. As a disclaimer, no, I do not work for Amazon.

Cote D'or Dark (86%) Brut Chocolate Cocoa is my guilty pleasure. Part of one square, held in my mouth as I sip hot Kona coffee at a morning break will get me over the usually stressful morning that I have had. The texture is crisp, the flavor smooth and bittersweet, and it is like silk when melting, a perfect harmony with really excellent coffee. I have had better chocolate, but NOT for the price. Find your own ceremony, this is excellent chocolate!

The price was good and delivery was fast on this order, but every bar in the package was broken.

Tastes just like we had in France

I grew up eating Cote d'Or chocolates and they are the best in the world - creamy, rich, pure chocolate taste!!!

Have been eating this chocolate for years: ever since discovering it. Firstly, the person who made the Off Comment! - you don't go straight into it - start with the 70%, then work your way up to the 86% - then go for the 100% - at this point you may want to try the Claudio Corallo 100% Original Cocoa Bars. (Only made from Original Cocoa beans, not from the hybreds you find in most of today's chocolate bars!) Another nice thing about the Cote D'or - break off 2 pieces, this is usually all you need to quench your appetite for chocolate - very rarely have I ever wanted to eat the whole bar! Usually lasts 5 days at 2 pieces a day. The higher the % of chocolate, the better it is for men's hearts - for men, milk chocolate is a killer!PS. I buy this in Canada when it goes on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart for 2 for $5. Which it was this week, and I cleaned off the shelf this morning to put into my freezer - love it crunchy!
