Of all the ice cream-making machines out there and all the research that I did before buying, I have to say that this covers the most important ones. Easy to fill before and during the making process. Gets very cold and holds the temperature for a long time. I like how the top pulls off so you can scoop the ice cream right away. The paddle stays in until you get down to the last bite and then you can take it out and clean it up. Some of the machines don't offer this feature. To me, that is a deal breaker. Even with all of the thought that has gone into this machine, it still comes at a great price; even better than some of the more expensive ones on the market. Takes 30 minutes to make the ice cream nice and cold. The presets are great but you can set your own if needed. I hope you enjoy this as much as my family has.

I'm so excited, and what great customer service!================Uuuhhgg I'm so depressed - this was such a GREAT ice cream maker when we first got it. We made at least 30 batches of different flavors. It handled the chunks of fruit like a pro, and its super quiet. Our freezer still has 3 containers of leftovers and I'm craving one now. Setup was a snap, and its really easy to clean as well. No more buying ice, no more pre-freezing, no more rock salt. Its exactly what I wanted! I do wish that the paddle you put in the mixture was metal though, I'm not sure how long that plastic one would have lasted.Unfortunately, it doesn't get cold anymore, so I think the compressor might have gone out? I've troubleshooted it, but nothing worked, so it was time to send it to the recycler. Its too bad because it was a dream machine and I would have highly recommended it, but it should last for years. Maybe a got a lemon, who knows. Oh lemon ice cream sounds good right now too. Bummer!

I really liked the idea of making homemade ice cream without messing with ice and salt. Not fond of the idea of putting a big bucket in the freezer either. So, the only thing holding me back was the price for these types of units. Most of these are pretty much the same and probably come out of the same factory in China. So, price was the determining factor for me. This one was discounted to $180 with a $50 dollar coupon so $130 before tax. Nice deal. Was received in excellent condition. Let it sit for several hours for the compressor oil to drain down to where it belongs. (UPS left it sitting on its side on my porch). Washed all the removable parts. My wife prepared the ice cream mixture, and we were ready to start. I read the manual, however, when I plugged it in, I got a display of 00:00 and the mode button would not select the ice cream mode. The manual cautions about not turning the compressor on and off, so I did not want to touch the start button until I was ready to begin. Turns out the machine after being plugged in, quickly goes into standby mode and you do have to press start before selecting the ice cream mode and setting the timer. The manual also cautions about making sure the bucket is absolutely dry before placing it in the machine. That makes sense as any moisture on the outside will freeze the bucket into the machine and the only way to get it out would be to let your ice cream melt. Not good. One thing the manual did not say though, you must also make certain there is no water-moisture in the hole in the bottom of the dasher where it sits over the hex shape shaft in the bottom of the bucket. My ice cream turned out great, but when I went to remove the plastic dasher, it was firmly stuck. As in I had to spoon all the ice cream out of the bucket with the dasher in place and then rinse the bucket out with warm water to release it. This plastic dasher part is probably the weak point on this machine so use caution here and don't try to force it. I have looked online and cannot find a source for replacement parts for this so a word to the wise. (Edit: I have made several batches and no matter what I try I can't get the dasher to release until it thaws. Just have to live with it.) I left the timer at the default 60-minute setting, but the ice cream was done before the 40-minute mark and the rotation stopped. The ice cream was great, and I believe the machine will work well if care is taken with the somewhat fragile plastic dasher and therefore my 4-star rating.

Despite simple set-up and operation, neither the original ice-cream maker nor the replacement worked: lots of blinking lights and noise, but no churning. Troubleshooting didn't help. Returns and refund were satisfactory.

This ice cream maker is amazing. The English directions were interesting, especially the consistency of the creah in the mix. Also the measurements were in grams. Americans use pounds and ounces. I do not have a metric measuring cup or spoon. As it was, I used our traditional family recipe abd the batch hardened in 35 minutes. Getting the beater out was a challenge since the top of the blade was below the surface of the ice cream and firmly held in place. I hope that the seller has replacement beater blades. the thin plastic composition of the plastic blade might not withstand the pressure from trying to extract it from the ice-cream. This finished product fit nicely into the freezer container that I purchased along with the machine. The first batch is delicious. Will try banana next with maybe a batch of small chocolate chips and sweet cherries. This certainly beats cranking a churn by hand. I'm single, so the 1 quart container is perfect. It is very quiet working. I highly recommend this item. It is easy to clean, Read the directions and make sure that the lid is properly alligned so the power points connect properly once the tpo is in its proper position.
