Bold, clear display, familiar Casio scientific calculator layout
This is a fantastic calculator with the usual Casio layout. I can read the display clearly in any lighting conditions (well, except for a very dark room), making it excellent for use outdoors or in a dim room. Numbers aren't as large as on most basic calculators, but their boldness and excellent contrast ensures they are just as legible. If your trusty fx-115MS finally died on you, this is as close as it gets to a direct replacement. Do NOT spring for the current fx-115ES unless you work in a well-lit office environment.I mainly use my calculator to work out angles and dimensions for woodworking and 3D modeling (at home) and machining (at work). I don't know how sturdy or dust-proof it is, but I absolutely trust it over my fragile, expensive smartphone to have in a work environment. Or any environment. I can't stand touch screens.Speaking of which...you may struggle to use this calculator with thick leather gloves, but with skinnier mechanic-type gloves you shouldn't have any issues. Spacing for the main number keys is 1/2" x 7/16" (13mm x 11mm) and spacing for the smaller keys in the upper block is 7/16" x 3/8" (11mm x 9mm). Definitely not as big as a basic calculator's keypad, but it's been perfectly fine for me.

Price was great, works great. It’s definitely not an expensive calculator but it gets the job the job done.

Good for basic equations
For the price, this is a great calculator. It has all the standard functions I need as an accounting student. The layout of the buttons is slightly clunky, it's hard to explain. But I appreciate that there is a "Delete" button to undo a single character instead of having to completely clear and then re-type an entire equation when I make a mistake.I wish the screen were easier to see from all angles. From straight-above the calculator, the screen looks clear and easy to read. But if I have the calculator on my desk as I use it, I generally don't have my head positioned immediately above it. So I see it at an angle, which makes the screen much harder to read. A brighter background would help.Still, it's a good calculator for the price!

Great calculator for middle school!
My son is going to 7th grade, and his math teacher recommended the Casio fx-300MS for his class. It is a great and affordable scientific calculator with useful features. It comes in a nice box. One thing I like about this calculator is that it shows what you have put in the input section. The screen could have been a little bigger, but that is totally fine. Overall I recommend this calculator to anyone in middle school!

Great calculator other than small issue with display
This was a good choice. It has enough buttons to have most of the functions you would need on a scientific calculator but is still small enough to fit in a side pocket of the laptop case or something. Has a delete button, which saves you from having to clear the screen and re-type your whole formula if you press one wrong button.EDIT: Found the ability to change contrast, so my previous complaint about not being able to see it from any angle was my fault.

Works great for my daughters Geometry class
Usually comes down to T.I. or Casio for these calculators. This one works great.
