Reasonable cost trumpet practice mute.
Until Pampet hit the market there were two options for obtaining a trumpet; practice mute: the high cost professional style of mute costing circa £45 upwards to around £90, and the very low cost but quite useless so-called practice mutes from China costing a few pounds. I bought a low cost mute but threw it away before long since this very small mute did not fit any of my instruments securely, did not provide anywhere near adequate muffling of sound, produced significant back pressure and affected the instrument tuning significantly. I have tried one of the expensive models in a music shop but did not consider that the high cost was value for my occasional use. So I bought a Pampet and have found it to be well compatible with my needs, The mute fits my two Bb trumpets, my cornet and slide trumpet, but not my flugel horn. The level of muting is very good on all instruments - comparable with the high cost models in my view. There is some back pressure as one would expect but it is not excessive.. I have measured the pitch variation muted and unmuted using a Korg tuner. This shows that there is some slight flattening of the pitch but it is barely detectable by ear and I can practice using the mute with my backing tapes without any problem. The Pampet mute is smaller than the higher cost practice mutes. It is made of plastic and comes in a soft velvet-like bag for protection. It is of unimposing design, but it works well for me and I recommend it for any musician who is looking for a low cost practice mute that works.

Practice mute
The only downside I find with this product is that it tends to "buzz" during use. Doesn't seem to alter tuning like some other practice mutes I've tried. Just need to get used to the buzzing noise.

Fantastic
Almost no back pressure when compared with the other practice mites in the market, super light, compact and in tune. Really reduces the volume and keeps the feeling when playing, as if you are using a straigh mute

Stifles the sound well
Works well, obviously creates a ton of backpressure, which is expectedCreates a significant buzzing noise at most volumes and ranges. Not sure if that's the same with every practice mute, but it's very noticeable. Then again, it's just a practice mute, so who really cares, right? All the same, can't say it's absolutely perfect, because of the buzz. But a good product, nonetheless.

spend a bit more on a better mute
While this mute does effectively deaden the sound of the trumpet to be very quiet, it removes playability along with it. As other reviewers have said, the mute makes a loud buzzing sound at the ends of the range, and also makes notes extremely difficult to articulate at the low end of the trmpet. I can not effectively practice with this and cannot recommend it for such purpose. If you wish to use the mute for a few warmup notes before a recital or before beginning your practice, I guess it will be fine for this purpose.

Kids learning brass
Eldest brought home a Cornett from school music lessons and LOVED it. 20mins of practising later I bought this, which *I* love. Everyone’s happy as a result

Good practice mute
Reduce the volume further compared to aluminium mute. I am using it in a shared-flat and nobody complains. Even for myself, it is quiet.

Reasonable piece of kit.
Works just fine. Some back pressure but easy enough to cope with.
