Great book. My 5 year old son loved it. He is kind of an aviation nerd!

Makes an excellent gift!
The paperback arrived in good condition and had excellent drawn photos throughout. I foresee myself purchasing more from this collection as gifts for my nephews. There are enough photos to keep the not-so-good reader interested, not to mention the stories of the famous and no-as-famous people.

my son loves it
My 7 year old is into aviation, but I liked this book (and so did he) as a way to relate famous flyers to the children they once were, at the age my son is now. This is the kind of book kids will learn history from, when it is interesting and relevant to them. It also discusses what qualities he had as a person, from the time he was young, that allowed him to succeed at what he enjoyed. My son enjoyed it very much.

boy pioneer!
In keeping with the Centennial of Flight -- Rebeccasreads recommends this book as a look at how Eddie Rickenbacker, an Ohio farm boy with Swiss roots, grew up to become a World War 1 Flying Ace, a founder of our commercial aviation, a pioneer racecar driver & the owner of no less than the famed Indianpolis 500 Speedway.Originally published 80 years ago, Patria Press is re-issuing the Young Patriot Series -- all fine stories about the childhoods of many of our heroes & heroines.
