HARD TO FIND THE RIGHT SMART LOCK
I got this product "ONLY" because I tried so many other smart locks, that just didn't work for me. I mean I tried the expensive one, the cheap one, the small ones, big ones many. So, I said I will try Philips. I honestly thought it would be a waste of time. BUT! this little lock is TRULY the BEST of all the smart locks I tried. First it was inexpensive, it's compacted and small, very easy, fast and simple to install, it reacts quick and it's not my internet that's doing it. The box it comes in is Oh so small, you would say, "That's It?". What I really like about it. IT REALLY WORKS WITH YOUR EXSISTING REGULAR DOOR DEADBOLT LOCK! It REALLY makes it a smart lock. It DO NOT need the Wi-Fi gateway that you have to buy separately with most smart locks. I did notice the price-hike after I got my lock. There were only 5 locks left when I got mine and this little lock sell very FAST! I got the keypad with finger touch, too. It is working perfectly for me. If I saw this smart lock first before the others, all my doors would have nothing but Philips Smart Locks. They just came out with about "3 OTHER" Philips smart locks. I think they are the same locks, but with a higher price. It still not a bad $170 with a touch keypad. Yes, I will get 2 or 3 more. (If they do the just the lock). It's A Very Good Non-Expensive Smart Lock. I am adding pictures maybe a video, I am not sure. The pictures are of my front door, and it has 3 different brand name smart locks on it (Which I honestly didn't want to do.) Listed from top to bottom is the pictures; 01. SWITCHBOT, 02. CATCHFACE & 03. PHILIPS. of these three locks, Philips is the one I would place on my doors. The others are really nice, BUT I LOVE EVERYTHING about Philips design, look, convenience of using it, the different options the app gives you to use, and the cost is pretty good. (I hope they do not raise the price?) I wanted a clean, smooth and slim look, for my doors, which I truly miss out on. This door locks costed me round $390. I think if I went $500 on the locks for my front door it would be looking really good. What I have now, do not look good to me BUT it's dose exactly what I need, my wife can enter the house quick, easy and safely at ANYTIME of the day, even if both her hands are full. Then the entire door secure itself seconds after she enters the house. I truly cannot ask for more. (I will be writing a review on each of the smart locks in my pictures: 01. SWITCHBOT, 02. CATCHFACE & 03. PHILIPS. Truly think they all are very nice products. [My Opinion])P,S. I still just might change all to 1 BRAND name and sell the ones I do not need.THURSDAY 07/03/2025CORRECTION: The NEW smart locks of Philips are ACTUALLY a better price! I almost fainted, OMG! Philips locks are really impressing me, with looks, quick reactions, wonderful and NEEDED features, friendly use of application, and VERY NICE PRICES!

It's quiet and very easy install
This is great for an apartment complex that won't let you change to a combination deadbolt. This is a great work around. It is super easy to install and doesn't change anything on the outside of the door. The app works really well for notifications of opening and closing, and even if it's manually locked instead of auto locked. The auto lock feature is excellent. Just make sure you have a key on you in case the battery dies. It hasn't happened yet, but I imagine it eventually will.

More reliable than August lock!
So first off, I want to preface this by saying I've been a user of the August lock since 2021 or so, And the August experience while functional for what I needed it to be was never great. However this Phillips lock is a far, far better improvement then the August lock.My biggest gripe with the August lock was the fact that it was not reliable both from a network standpoint and a continual lack of security, with random openings of the lock and weird times and or random inability to access the lock at critical times. Which was extremely frustrating. This Philips lock has resolved all my problems. It is so fast to open and close the door it's unbelievable. Not once have I lost network connection or been unable to access it from the app. Some people are saying that the app is not great but truly you don't need a super fancy app to open and close your lock. You really don't!Pros of this lock:Clean uncluttered and smooth app, no lagAbility to add fingerprintsAbility to see the battery status of your lock and all its accessories ( Come on August why was this so difficult to do)Easy integration with Alexa and Google HomeEasy passcodes, easy history viewAbility to assign codes... temporary and otherwiseCons:So far none, I will update this if I encounter any cons.

Instructions could be better
UPDATE: I’m lowering my rating because of the following problems.#1. It eats batteries faster than anything I have ever owned.#2. When our Xfinity WiFi does its annoying reboots of our router, it doesn’t always reconnect#3. To get it to reconnect, I have to take it off the door, try to press the smallest reset button I have ever seen#4. I now have a large lock/unlock knob and have to use the key when ever we leave the hose.Definitely not recommendedThe installation was a little more involved than was necessary because the dead bolt bing replaced was probably the original installed 30 years ago. On the first attempt following the instructions to have the bolt retracted, it would not work even with the key from the outside. I loosened the screws and was able to wiggle the inner assembly to reposition the bolt and turn the key to the lock position. I decided at that time to remove the inside plate and reinstall it with the bolt extended. Once I was able to turn the key to lock and unlock positions, I retracted the bolt and continued with the installation steps. Finished the installation and was able to lock and unlock the door from inside. So far, so good. Now for the phone app. It asks for email, password, and a code. The installation book said the code was on the back of the battery cover. I tried everything I could read. Failed every time. Finally I called the help number. The lady asked if I got the email with the code. NOT MENTIONED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS. I checked and had 6 emails. Used the code on the last one and was able to complete the setup. My only remaining issue is with the voice command, and I should have researched more on that. I have Siri, Alexa, and Google. It doesn’t work with Siri so can’t unlock from my watch. Alexa will lock the door but I have not been able to get her to unlock. I haven’t tried the Google Assist yet, that’s next. Over all I’m not sorry I made this purchase, but when I find a dead bolt replacement that is this easy to install and works with Apple, I’ll probably pass this on to a relative.
