Keep the solar panel clean.
I bought this light in march of 2019, writing this in Jan of 2025, light has been great and still working thru most of the night in north east pa. I bought other solar lights for my property and they don't work that great. It's been below 20 for the last two week and after 6 years, like I said working thru most of the night.

Does a great job of lighting the barn entry, easy install
The first flood light would not fully charge and is being returned. Amazon quickly sent a replacement which is working properly. Our barn is 36' wide and the light is mounted 12' above the ground. At that height the light throws a beam over 40' wide and 12' deep, adjusted to a 40 degree projection angle. The light illuminates automatically just before dark falls and stays on beyond the solar sunrise: The lamp faces directly south and the sensor is not exposed to light immediately upon sunrise. The lamp appears to be as bright in the morning as it was when first activated at night. We have been blessed with two sunny days since installation and do not know yet how the lamp will fare without exposure when clouds block the sun. The remote control was used only once to set the lamp to automatic and has not been used since. I am going to give this another week or so to test and may purchase more of these items to place on our property. The mounting hardware provided with the kit was subpar for my purposes and I purchased stainless steel nuts, bolts and lock washers to secure the solar panel to the bracket.l Lag screws were used to secure the brackets of both the panel and lamp to the wooden barn and the charging cable was coiled and secured it to the solar panel bracket with tie wraps. The instructions were insufficient but connecting and mounting the system is essentially intuitive. The lamp has a weather-tight screw fitting that attaches to the solar panel. Be aware the lamp battery requires at least 8 full hours of direct sunlight to fully charge. Also note the panel tilt should be equal to your latitude, plus 15 degrees in winter, or minus 15 degrees in summer. I used a Wixley digital angle gauge to find the correct angle. So far so good.

First one received worked great for 2 days, replacement never worked at all
Update. The first solar light received worked great for two days and return was painless; however, the replacement never worked at all. I am very disappointed. I had high hopes for this light, but realize I must find a better option. Original review: Worked great for first 2 days, and abruptly stopped working. I double checked the connection and monitored throughout day to insure adequate exposure to sun, but panel continued to appear dead. I even disconnected solar panel and physically moved throughout an entire day to insure absolute maximum exposure to bright sun from daylight to dark, but it continued to register zero on stored energy after reconnecting. The light no longer makes any attempt to light up when turned on even after the panel has been exposed to a full day of bright sunlight. I'm very disappointed because I have an identical solar light I bought two years ago - mounted on same side of building that works great. After enjoying a satisfactory test period with the first solar light that survived several intense thunderstorms without incident, I was going to buy several of these units to illuminate a large area around our home, shop and outbuildings, but must reevaluate after such a disappointment. I was so confident in this solar product that I threw away the packaging immediately after the install.

NOT MOTION ACTIVATED!!
On a good sunny winter day, you can get the battery to 100% and that will get me light for 10 hours at half brightness. The remote has to be pointed DIRECTLY at the light to work, so if it's pointed away from the house, you have to go outside to "communicate" with the light.I just set it for half brightness and let it run all night, it goes off when it goes off, at least powering it is "free". Eventually a good sunny day will restore the battery to 100% again, so when I let the dog out in the early (winter dark) morning, it's still on.I like it. Point the solar panel South at about 45º and you'll be fine.

Great floodlight but has some problems
This is exactly what I was looking for to light up my backyard: Bright, wide-span light, solar-powered & with remote control. Unfortunately, whoever packaged it place the light fixture cord such that it crimped the connector and I was unable to attach it to the connector on the solar panel so I had to return it - now shopping for a possible alternative. The Remote is also pretty cheaply made, but it does have several control options - I really liked that! I don't want to have to climb a ladder to turn the light on/off and this light must be mounted high. The fixture is made such that the LEDs are broadcast out - very good design for light spread. The light was bright at over 30 ft away, mtd 12 ft high. Note, this should be mounted at least 12 ft high as the light is VERY bright! Probably equivalent to a 250W or greater floodlight of the HID type. Choose your location wisely or you may have an upset neighbor.

Great light, great service from seller
I bought this light in October and installed it a couple weeks after I'd received it. It's a great light--not one of those cheap things made out of plastic with a cheap solar panel. This thing has a solid aluminum light housing and a goodquality solar panel that's pretty large inside an aluminum frame and sealed in a glass panel. Installed it and it works great. Lights up an area just as I needed. After a month or so I noticed that some water is condensing inside the housing on the glass. It was about a month out of the Amazon 30 day return period. I sent an email to the seller and explained the issue and they shot a replacement out to me immediately, no questions asked other than about what the issue was. I highly recommend this light from this seller.
