06/22/23: UPDATED - We did finally get an email response on 2 ways to try to "fix" it, neither worked and one was dangerous!! VERY USELESS PRODUCT. We realized all we needed was a photo-electric BULB, no need for this adapter, so we bought that here on Amazon for as cheap or cheaper than this was. So far (famous last words) it is working perfectly, fit perfectly. Should have done this first. SO, PRODUCT STILL WAS BAD IN OUR OPINION, CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING, GET A DUSK TILL DAWN LIGHTBULB INSTEAD!We got this March 3rd (in So. Cal.) it is now only the middle of May, and like so many other reviews said, WHICH I should have read, I always do..it worked perfectly ... until last week. It does the same thing (even with the other sensors they include) where it is on, then off, then on, now off ... we tested bulb.Since the reviews also said good customer service, I emailed them yesterda) and got an Automatic Reply that they are overwhelmed with emails and will get back to me, so I'm trying to save somone else the mistake. READ REVIEWS (Even though not that expensive, it's not a good product in our opinion and would buy something else.

First impressions after installing during the day and testing after sunset. Installed in a downward-facing, hanging lantern style porch fixture. The light turned on after dark but switched itself off after a few moments, came back on after a few minutes and repeated this sequence over and over. Clearly, light from the bulb was reflecting into the photocell and causing the socket to switch the bulb off. Included in the package, but not shown or mentioned in the installation instructions was a short plastic tube that looks as if it is intended to fit over the photocell and shield it from internal reflections in a light fixture-exactly the problem that I was having. The tube however, was slightly larger than the photocell opening, I had to use sandpaper to reduce its diameter until it fit the hole. Once the socket (with the tube now shielding the photocell) was reinstalled in the fixture, it works as advertised. Now I wait until morning to see if the tube prevents daylight from turning the bulb off. I'll edit this review after seeing how it responds to daylight.Edit: The light did turn off the next morning. It didn't go off until about 2 hours after sunrise, but it did turn off. I'm pleased with this item but wish that the included shade for the photocell didn't need to be modified to fit.

I installed this device 3 months ago, it worked good. last week, the light didn't turn on, I thought it was the bulb so I changed the bulb but the bulb worked. So I checked the device and found out the problem. The problem is very simple, the top connector somehow sank under the plastic so it doesn't connect. I didn't want to throw out because of just a small problem and contaminated the environment so i asked my tech to repair which would actually cost me more. Just another note, I purchased another same model made by woods two months ago because I didn't know this one was going to go bad. That one came in defective. It would turn on at night alright but for every 5~10 minutes then turn off for few minutes then come back on again. I was going to return it but I thought this might not be bad because it helps to make people think I am home.

I have the unit installed outdoors inside glass lamp. It is bulkier than the older model I had for two years. The only problem I see is that at random intervals it shuts off for a bit and then it comes back on. The old model I had, had the same problem.

Firstly, this unit isn't for motion detection. I use it so I can have my front porch light and back porch light come on when the sun goes down, and then off again at dawn. No more flipping switches or trying to remember if I turned the lights on or off. Well worth it. 5 stars!

It took a few minutes to get the device reset itself and recognize light vs dark but once I got them situated and chose the correct “shade” to insert into the sensor slot they have worked just fine.

I had problems with the first set of control sockets. Emailed the company I was told don't worry they will take care of it and sent out replacements right away they work fine they have been in now for about six months. Working fine.R.Bonnr

I have bought these for several years now. They work okay as long as they don't get too wet. Sometimes you can shake them to remove water and they are okay until the next rain. Wish they would include a waterproof collar to prevent water from running down the bulb into the socket. When dry work great . Good price and you can't beat Amazon customer service when you do have a problem.

It does not function properly, sometimes in the middle of dark it is off, so it is on an off most likely will return it.

the product light sensitivity is very low. it usually stays on. it is almost always on.

Lleva mucho tiempo a la intemperie y sigue funcionando como el primer día. Había tenido otros adaptadores con sensor pero dejaban de funcionar con el tiempo. No es este el caso. Lo recomiendo.

Revise antes de hacer esta compra y note que a otros productos con casi el mismo precio se le tenían que hacer modificaciones lo que me genero desconfianza.En este producto no tienes que hacer ninguna modificación y funcionan de maravilla, durante el día se pagan las luces y al atardecer se prenden, traen como un pequeño tubo para hacer menos sensible el sensor y colocarlo de tal manera que tome luz y se apaguen durante el día.Al llegar a casa tarde después de trabajar y tener las luces de afuera ya encendidas me da seguridad, lo mismo por la mañana al salir.Sin duda lo recomiendo.++++++Nota.El aparato solo sirve de manera correcta si está expuesto directamente al sol, yo estoy teniendo problemas ya que como se observa en las fotos no está expuesto directamente, si desean que realmente funcione en un lugar donde no le pega directo al sol indica que tienes que tenerlo al menos a 45 grados con un extensor y de manera que le llegue más luz de día.
