6.0 and 6.4 starter replacement
after 250K miles my 6.4 starter was starting to work intermittently. Held in by 3 13mm bolts on the passenger side of the truck where the transmission and engine meets the starter is accessed from under the truck. Disconnect the batteries, disconnect the wiring harness to the starter (one of the bolts is a double bolt for the ground) and remove all bolts and replace starter. The top bolt (that you can't see) is the hardest, i used a power socket wrench, small extension and a universal joint.starter works great, sounds a little different, i can't say that it's any better other than actually working!

Works on 6.0
Works great on my 6.0, it the best starter upgrade ever, went through 4 other starters before this one and I've never heard this engine crank so fast before.

Truck starts
Everything looks solid. Installed as it's supposed to and truck starts every time. That's all I needed.

Starter lasted 6 months before the mating flange snapped and left me stranded.

Great upgrade for your 6.0!
I purchased this because I wanted to upgrade the OE starter on my 6.0. Although I didn't have any issues with the original, I'm glad I did this swap. Once removed, I could feel the internals of the OE "move" around.Install was a breeze. Literally a 20 minute job. One word of caution; if you don't unplug your block heater for this swap, make sure it is still plugged all the way in after install. I found out the next morning that mine wasn't. Makes for a cold 1st 15 minutes of the ride in the AM.The difference the starter makes when turning the engine over is night and day. The truck starts faster, which is why I did this. And from I have read, it has a lower amp draw than the original one. And for the money and Prime shipping... Too good of a deal to pass up.

Great upgrade! A must for an 6.0L Ford
This is the absolute best upgrade you can do to your 6.0. After bulletproofing my 2005 E350 Van I was having long cranks at times and no starts when cold(under50*). The factory starter (120k miles on it) would draw to many amps and the van would not start. I did some research and found the 6.4L starter was a great upgrade. Now, I alway buy factory Ford parts but this time I would try this DB Electric starter. So far so good. I installed the starter my self in about 30 mins! It cranks twice as fast and starts instantly. I mean instantly. Yesterday was a cold start at 31* and started instantly with about a 15 second KOEO wait!Love it! Buy it!! For under $100 I will keep buying them if this one does not last!!So happy!

Fits the 6.0 perfectly!
This is such a great upgrade for my 6.0 Excursion. My truck has 160k miles on it and while my original starter was still working, the 6.4 starter is just a massive upgrade, especially for those in colder climates as the truck just turns on faster.
