Russian Grammar Made Easy: A Comprehensive Workbook To Learn Russian Grammar For Beginners (Audio Included)

I have been learning Russian from the Lingo-Mastery, and I absolutely love “Russian Grammar Made Easy” for developing a better understanding of Russian grammar! “Russian Grammar Made Easy” builds on foundational skills taught in other Lingo Mastery beginning level Russian language books. If you have never studied Russian before, I recommend beginning with Lingo Mastery’s “Russian Alphabet Made Easy” to learn the alphabet and the application of the sounds in words and then “Russian Made Easy Level 1” to learn vocabulary words and sentences that are practical in everyday conversation. Once a foundation in Russian has been laid, you will want to develop an understanding of the language’s grammar. “Russian Grammar Made Easy” introduces gender and number of nouns and pronouns, case forms of nouns and pronouns, adjectives, the conjugation of verbs, and sentence structures. The book provides practical exercises to apply what has been taught. I especially like the practical exercises, because they reinforce what I have learned, and I can check my answers against an answer key in the back of the book. The book provides a link to easily accessible audio files that enable me to practice my Russian pronunciation. I am very pleased with the Lingo Mastery Russian Language books. In the past, I tried a language app, but I found I was not retaining what I learned, and I did not like the recurring cost of the subscription. I genuinely enjoy studying a language at my own pace! So, if you have a foundation in the Russian alphabet and a knowledge of some common vocabulary, I highly recommend “Russian Grammar Made Easy” from Lingo-Mastery!

The only downside to this book - and it's a huge bummer - no accent marks on the words! SUCH A BUMMER! I still give it five stars because compared with the other book I have, the layout makes more sense and there are lots of questions & answers. The size of the book is good as well, for reading & also for the exercises and writing/taking notes.

I have already left a positive review, copied below. But I have noticed two elements that should change in any second edition. Has anyone noticed that the table of contents is not accurate? The chapter on verbs begins at page 147. But the table of contents reads 'page 153'. Same with all the other chapters. Not helpful. There are plenty of grammar exercises. That's good. Finding the answer key at the back of the workbook for any particular exercise is not so easy. This should be redesigned by adding the page number of the exercise to the corresponding answer key, so you could easily find the answers. >>The headline of this review is "An Excellent Workbook". Like those athletic performances, Russian proficiency takes some grammar practice. Grammar requires reps. Your Russian grammar coach is between the covers of this workbook.

This isn't exactly what I expected. This isn't a beginner's book. I studied in another book, on DuoLingo & HelloTalk for over a year and this book is about right for me. I was hoping this would be more basic, but once you've studied for about a year, this is about right. For the 2nd year it is great, but certainly not a 1st year book, thus the -1 star. It's being mislabeled as a beginner book.

The sensory input from writing Russian is invaluable in my learning process

I've read many Russian grammar texts over the years (40+), and this one is up there as one of the best--and at a reasonable price. The layout is concise and well-spaced, making the workbook very easy on the eyes. Declensions are displayed and explained in a more simpler manner than that of the tables of yesteryear; thus, there is less of "vertigo" effect when trying to commit case endings to memory. As an analogy, the book is like a GPS versus trying to read a map. The exercises are blended well with the various points of grammar and are the only real way to actively use the grammar learned. I might add that the included audios are a bonus in that traditional grammar texts rarely had audio add-ons, and if they did, it usually meant having to play an LP record or a cassette tape. This is not the case with this workbook. It's ben said that grammar is always after the fact when conversing in Russian; on the other hand, it is inseparable if one is to learn proper Russian and sound "right." This workbook is one of the tools that can of great benefit to the reader.

Very well organized with each Russian word appearing highlighted within a phrase, a long with the accompanying English translation. This will be so helpful.

I studied Russian many years ago at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA and, after completing service in the US Army, thought with regret I would never again use this wonderful language. Happily I was wrong! Living in the Boston, MA area and working in retail I discovered we have quite a Russian-speaking community in our midst but over the years I found I had forgotten much. Lingo Mastery came to the rescue with Russian Grammar Made Easy. Through the included audio and many grammatical drills and exercises I found my Russian language skills coming back especially in the area of conversation where Lingo Mastery is just the ticket. I can assist Russian speaking customers with greater confidence now and we all have a lot of fun. I love this book as well as other Lingo Mastery books I have on the Cyrillic alphabet and the two volumes of short stories. Thank you Lingo Mastery!
