Exceeding Every Expectation
Love it. I bought it with the million-dollar DeConk base, and I am very pleased with their team performance. The navy 9 x 12 umbrella is sturdy and majestic. The construction is high quality and strong. The lights are a nice touch at night (get the option with the lights if it's available, worth the relatively modest price difference), and bright enough, with a few brightness level choices. You charge up something that looks like a remote control and magnetically snaps onto the underside of the umbrella. A charge lasts pretty long. With the southern California sun, I would typically get a few days out of a charge. In a very thoughtful customer-friendly choice, it comes with two of these magnetic power units, or whatever you call them. So it's easy to always have power, and it eliminates that common stress of looking for the one key, the one remote, and so on. There is peace of mind with having a backup, and somehow when I have a back up I don't lose things and when I don't I do. That's an odd but true rule, and it operates in your favor here.I forgot if there was a remote control If there was, I never used it. I pressed the buttons on the underside of the magnetic piece. They are large buttons and easy to see, although at 5'7" I had to stand on the water tank to reach it.Since I consider the umbrella and base as a team, I will include a a few positive comments about the base. I'm glad I bought the matching set. Most bases require some sand. There are probably competing models that also allow water only, but I don't recall seeing any. In any event, if you have to use sand, pay attention to the size of the filling hole. It can be very time-consuming getting sanded into even the larger holes. Not large enough for me. Also consider that sand generally comes in 50 pound bags. That's too heavy for me, too expensive because you'll need a fair number, and I myself to not have a vehicle. You may be richer and stronger and have a truck. In that case most of these concerns would not apply, Just getting the sand into the tiny hole, and maybe you could delegate that. This base has a nice large hole for filling it with water, And filling it with sand would be more manageable. Maybe there are two holes, I can't remember, but it was very easy to fill with a garden hose.I chose to fill the base with only water because I think it weighed 200 pounds with just the water, and I felt that was sufficient for my situation. The southern California home of my navy DeConk is not battered by winds on a frequent basis, but windy days do occur, sometimes several at a time, and this umbrella held firm.I typically cranked it down when it was windy or about to be, but sometimes the winds had already started, and it never faltered more than a minor sway at the top. The pole, if you will, is rectangular and so strong and so solid. Most of the time the winds here are nine or 10 mph on a windy day. But we had wins as strong as 22 mph recently, and this umbrella and base team stood firm. This umbrella-bass ensemble has exceeded my expectations in every way. I shopped carefully for this purchase, and I'm very happy with my selection. This should definitely be on your shortlist of patio umbrellas to consider.

BEAUTIFUL!
We were trying to think about the best way to get a cover or something over the furniture and give us more shade. We looked into getting a gazebo, which was pricey and was heavy and had so many pieces to put together. Then thought about an awning, but worried about it pulling out of the wall. Then I checked about umbrellas. I didn't realize that they came so large and square-shaped. This one is a 9'x12' and is beautiful. It covers all the furniture and very shady. It has a wind vent at the top that lets air blow through without causing any "lift" plus it keeps the air moving and doesn't build up heat. Another thing I LOVE is the lights. I didn't want to have to run power cords everywhere. This umbrella has a solar panel at the very top to recharge during the day. There are 2 UPS charged devices you snap (just one) on the main arm and use to control how bright you want the light. The other device just hangs around fully changed inside the house in case you need it. And the lights are nice. Not too bright but still plenty to sit outside and enjoy the night. There are 3 settings for the lights. All and all, this is better than we thought it would be. The price was great, considering how much the gazebo and awning would end up being. NOW, very important...it does NOT, I repeat, does NOT come with the base. It comes with a heavy metal X-type base that can be used to screw into something or put into cement, but will not hold up the umbrella on its own. We did have to order the base that was suggested and that worked out fantastic. Of course, that makes the setup a little more expensive, but it's perfect for what we wanted. We do lower the umbrella when there's going to be strong winds, but have left it up during regular, non-gusty rains and it was fine. Even sat out there while it was raining sipping on a toddy and enjoyed it. And it comes with a cover to slip over the umbrella. So, TWO THUMBS UP!!

Very nice , sturdy umbrella. Good value
Really nice umbrella , pretty quick to assemble. Looks nice , quality is solid. My only regret is that I didn’t realize my base from my old umbrella won’t fit this one and now I have to buy another base so I’ll spend more instead of buying them together upfront.

Love it
Well made, heavy duty umbrella that is easy to use The size is perfect and covers my 16 x20 deck at every angle needed because it is easily adjustable. The color is beautiful and after one season has not faded. Everyone that sees it comments on its size and how nice it is. Definitely well worth the money and am very pleased with it.

Well-designed product
It’s a really good product for providing mid-day shade on our deck. It lifts and returns easily. The step-on control at the base permits rotating which is useful in a tight space. Initial assembly took about an hour. The directions are unfortunately a series of pictures which are generally accurate with minor exceptions. Just be prepared to take time to study the diagrams carefully. There are no written words. A velcro strap holds the canopy in place after being taken down. That is a nice feature. I saw some criticism about the lack of a base, but I could have not used a base. I bolted the “x” stand to my deck and that is working well. I have received multiple positive comments about the indigo blue color.
