Do the gold plated buckles fade if you wash them ?

I will first clarify that it's not a gold plated product, but a very nice quality real brass or mostly brass product, as opposed to the soft tin alloys that a lot of these items are usually made of that either fade or deform quickly. Keep in mind that brass does oxidize, so the shiny gold will eventually develop a darker patina over time, which has its own appeal. If you are after the bright gold shine, it can cleaned with a brass/silver polish product. You shouldn't have to do it but once a year or even less. And as a former professional dry cleaner, I would be more concerned with scratches. The buckle has some good weight to it for its size and you don't want it beating itself up inside a washer or dryer. The article it's attached to should be enclosed inside a mesh bag during the cleaning process, or, a small rag wrapped around the buckle and safety-pinned in place.

Is it good for use on pleather?

It should work for pleather. The pleather itself may not handle much tension though.

Are these pretty strong? Im looking to use it on a dog collar

A small dog for sure, larger breeds labs, etc. I’d say probably they are good quality but I wasn’t using them for strength it was on a shoulder holster
