Purchased this item as a gift. The recipient said the caramels are good + tasty.

I have had bourbon caramel along with rum caramel before which was great! Now I don’t know if I got something that quality control missed or what but I came close to throwing up when I took the first bourbon caramel from the container and placed it in my mouth!! I served over 12 years in the military and have eaten things, well is best not spoken of in a civilized conversation. As some of you may not have a strong constitution when dealing with gross and disgusting items being eaten! But I will say this!! Out of ALL OF THE DISGUSTING THINGS I HAVE EVER TASTED, THIS PRODUCT WAS BY FAR THE WORSE!! I would rather have to smell raw sewage all day than to place even a tiny portion of this disgusting product in my mouth again!!So let’s talk about the PROS and CONS now….PROS : The was indeed sealed properly! Along with the product being intact (vs melted). Also the product was soft in texture.CONS : The taste is horrendous!! I can only describe the taste as…… well you know when you smell good that has gone bad include that to the smell of something like a small animal that died and perfuming the air with the dainty fragerence of death….. Now if you put both of those to smells together…… That will provide you with an idea of WHAT IT TASTED LIKE. So… yeah…. not good!I have purchased the Salted Caramel from this same company along with the candy apple caramel also, which were both extremely good!! So please choose one of those two items instead!! I will NEVER purchase this particular item again!!!!

I love Tara's caramels. The sea salt variety is my favorite. They are so soft and gooey, they feel like they were made yesterday. They are a perfect size for a mouth full of sweet, buttery goodness. One caramel is definitely enough to satisfy any sweet tooth. Having said all that, this flavor is a disappointment. Like other reviewers, I also found the bourbon taste to be chemically. So, I'm giving this flavor four stars, but the other flavors are definitely five stars.

If you like a Vanilla Bourbon home made soft caramel. O m g these are fabulous. They have a strong bourbon buttery flavor. They are soft, chewy and simply amazing. One of the things we did for a dinner party is we unwrapped 8 and kneaded fine shred toasted unsweetened coconut into the caramel and cut them into 16 rolled balls. We finished them off by rolling the balls in a little bit larger grind toasted coconut. Our guests loved the caramels as they came with slices of pink lady and braybyrn apples from our garden and they raved about our little coconut balls. I will be placing a holiday order of these to share with friends and family.

My sister sent me a small jar of the sea salt caramels for my birthday, which were AMAZING! I was so delighted, I checked out all the other flavors available and ordered the large jar of the bourbon flavor.And that was a tragic mistake.What I received appears to be caramel apple flavor inside a bourbon-labeled jar. Or maybe there are some bourbon-flavored ones in there, too, but the apple flavor seems to have taken over so I can't really tell. Either way, these don't taste good.The sea salt caramels were 100% worth the price and so, so, so good. They are soft and buttery and flavorful and salty and just completely wonderful. I'm not giving up on this brand and will probably reorder at some point, but for now I'm pretty bummed with what I received.

Requiring this comment is "beating a horse". I already said the flavor is not spot on. It is like getting an undercooked Little Caesars pizza.

Best caramels I’ve ever eaten! So soft and smooth and flavorful definitely worth the money.
