Great Bluetooth Controller
Works great with the Anbernic RG353P, a Linux gaming handheld, with user setup required for whatever frontend you are using and with RetroArch. I imagine it is much simpler with other devices. Bluetooth connection was simple using the D-input mode and the controller remembers what mode and device you had it connected to, and gaming has no latency or interruptions whatsoever. I used the latest firmware on the manufacturer’s website and inputs were spot on. The battery lasts a long time and charges fast. Also ergonomics are really good for playing retro games. My only complaint, not a serious one, would be that holding the start button for 2 seconds is needed to turn on the controller, but the same goes for tuning it off too, a 2 seconds period of holding it down. This can mess up plans for hotkeys and such if you are into that. Alternative hotkeys can be set to R3+B to quit game for instance.

Amazing Controller!
The 8BitDo Sn30 Pro Bluetooth Controller is a gaming marvel that has exceeded all my expectations! As a dedicated gamer, I've had my fair share of controllers, but this one has quickly become my absolute favorite. From its retro-inspired design to its exceptional performance, it's clear that 8BitDo has created something truly special. First and foremost, the design of the Sn30 Pro is an homage to classic gaming controllers, blending the nostalgia of the past with modern technology. The feel of the controller in your hands is fantastic, with a comfortable grip that ensures you can game for hours without any discomfort. The button layout is familiar, with all the buttons, triggers, and thumbsticks placed intuitively, making it easy to adapt for gamers of all ages. One of the standout features of the Sn30 Pro is its wireless Bluetooth connectivity. The setup is seamless, and it's compatible with a wide range of devices, including PC, Mac, Android, iOS, and even the Nintendo Switch. This versatility makes it a perfect companion for a variety of gaming platforms, and I've experienced no noticeable input lag during my gameplay sessions. The Sn30 Pro's exceptional battery life is another huge plus. I've been amazed by how long it lasts on a single charge, allowing me to game for days without constantly worrying about recharging. This controller truly understands the needs of avid gamers. But what truly sets the Sn30 Pro apart is its incredibly precise and responsive performance. The D-pad feels like a dream for retro gaming enthusiasts, while the thumbsticks provide smooth and accurate movement. The tactile feedback of the buttons and triggers is satisfying, and the controller even features motion control capabilities for games that support it. Furthermore, the ability to customize and remap buttons through the 8BitDo Ultimate Software adds a layer of personalization that enhances the gaming experience. You can tailor the controller to your preferences and optimize it for different game genres, giving you an edge in competitive gameplay. Lastly, the build quality is top-notch, with a sturdy construction that feels like it can withstand the rigors of intense gaming sessions. This controller is built to last, and it shows in every detail, from the quality of the materials used to the overall craftsmanship. In conclusion, the 8BitDo Sn30 Pro Bluetooth Controller is a must-have for gamers of all levels. Its combination of retro aesthetics, seamless connectivity, fantastic battery life, and unparalleled performance make it a gaming accessory that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Whether you're a casual gamer or a hardcore enthusiast, this controller will take your gaming experience to the next level. Don't miss out on this gaming gem—it's a true masterpiece!

Excellent retro controller.
A really great retro style controller. Works perfect on a Nintendo switch, I also use it on the macOS for games on the App Store. Has a good battery life. Good quality, sticks and buttons. A good price too.

Pretty good controller with a couple minor nitpicks
Alright, so this review is for the original Game Boy colored one, but it shouldn't matter much other than the d-pad having a slightly different texture. I've used it on PC (wired and wireless), Switch (wireless), and Android (wireless) and it has pretty much worked flawlessly. Just keep in mind you will need a Bluetooth antenna/module on any device you want to use it on (Switch and most Android phones have them built in) and also I didn't see iPhone listed, so it may not work on it at all. Unfortunately it does not work while wired on Switch, though it will charge the controller while plugged in, and it does use USB-C, which is a massive improvement over 8Bitdo's older generation of controllers which used micro USB. You basically just follow the instructions to connect it to each system, and once it's hooked up you can charge it and just use it normally until you need to switch again, at which point you'll have to follow the instructions for whatever target platform you're switching it to. For the most part this consists of either pressing a face button and start and then the pair button for wireless, or pressing a button and start and plugging it in for wired on Windows or Mac OS. The controller itself works a lot better than I expected, and I was worried that, having fairly large hands, the sticks would get in the way of the buttons and vice-versa. For me at least, this isn't an issue. I played Mega Man, Monster Hunter World, Xenoblade 2, Octopath Traveler, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Fire Emblem Warriors, the Capcom Beat 'em Up Bundle, and the Nintendo Online NES games with it so far. All of them have worked better than I thought. There is one sticking point for me though. I feel the L1/R1 (upper set of bumpers on top) stick out a bit too much and are a bit too small. If that were fixed to be a bit more ergonomic I think this thing would be perfect. It would probably mean a chunkier controller but IMO that isn't a bad thing, this is already thicker than a SNES pad is (compared with my originals) and it feels better to me honestly in that it has more to hold onto. A version with a handle is coming out in a few months, maybe that will feel a bit better, but for now this controller is pretty solid in my opinion. Battery life has been holding up fine for me though I couldn't provide an exact number of hours. It's worth mentioning this thing has rumble (normal kind, not "HD"), gyro functionality (for motion aiming in things like Splatoon, though I haven't tested it and I am not sure if this can even be accessed on PC but would be neat if so), and screenshot/home buttons. It has everything on a Switch controller you might want other than NFC and the HD rumble, but honestly that's good enough in my opinion. Pretty solid controller overall, definitely better than I expected. It doesn't exactly look like it would be the most comfortable controller in the world, but it actually feels pretty good. Well worth the price and consideration over the "NES-cons" for the NES Online service that are only officially confirmed to work on that one game and don't even work while attached. This is the real deal, and it doesn't have those awful sharp corners.

Nostalgia Meets Performance
This controller is fantastic. I got it mainly for my ROG Ally X and PC, and it connects flawlessly every time. The Hall Effect joysticks feel super smooth, and the classic SNES-inspired design is perfect for retro games while still handling modern ones really well. It’s compact, responsive, and works across all my devices, even tried it with my phone and Switch. Battery life is great, and the build quality feels premium. If you're into emulation, handhelds, or just love the retro vibe, this controller is a must.

Took a while to arrive, however, love this controller!

The base shape and size of this controller is modelled after the SNES controller. It has additional L and R buttons and two joy sticks giving it the same amount of buttons as a PS2+ and Xbox+ controllers. This should be able to play many of the classic or modern games with ease. The build quality is very good, it feels very good in the hands and very sturdy. There is software available that allows you to change the sensitivity of the sticks and shoulder buttons as well as remap the button layout if needed. Software supports both windows and mac. The controller was fairly easy to set up and it is now plug and play, connecting to my PC as soon as the controller turns on. The battery life is excellent. I've used it for several hours without needed a charge. One downside is that there seems to be no indication of low battery. It will just die. I went with the Hall Effect joysticks to avoid problems like stick drift. They feel great. The added button on the SNES shell can make the controller feel cramped at first, it does take some getting used to and if you have larger hands it might take you a while longer. The model I got has rumble which was a feature I did not remember seeing. Very pleasant surprise.
