Love the cake products, the smell is not overwhelming, not a heavy hold and not not leave a sticky hold. Works well for any type of hair.

The smell of this is great. It really smells exactly like lemon meringue. I have very fine thin hair and this does not weigh my curls down. I mix it with the cake curl cream. It gets a nice slight cast on it and I’m able to scrunch it out nicely. I think the mixture of both products does a great job of frizz control and defining curls without weighing them down. I don’t know that I will ever use another combo for my curls.

Easy to use. Be sure to shake the tube before using. Liquid seems to settle down in the stand up tube. That is an easy fix. Love the smell and I get many compliments on it. Holds well and just spray with water the next morning and you can pick it out easily.

This gets 4.5 starsHold is great for my fine but plentiful hair. It’s my fav gel to hold my waves all day. My beef is the scent. I really wish they would make this fragrance free. It’s says it’s “citrus” this smells like I’m slapping bday cake to my head. Not at all citrus and its strong scent. Luckily my other products take it down some. It’s great for refreshing waves the non wash days too. I really like that’s it’s vegan, sulfate free and the price is right! It also lasts a long time. I use about a quarter sized amount a day for my above the shoulders hair length. It’s so-so on anti-frizz but I use a serum to control my frizz since there’s a lot of it. (Again a lot of fine hair tends to frizz) please make an unscented version but keep all the other properties the same!

I purchased the entire collection. The shampoo, conditioner, cream and jel. While some people complain about the smell, I found it wasn’t really that bad. It smells like fake cotton candy.I didn’t get the definition and hold the cream and gel offered. After a few hours I found my hair was limp and curls were blah.

I have been using this product for over a year now - either purchased from Amazon or Walgreens locally. I have thick, fine, wavy/loose curly hair and this product really pulls out the curls. I pair it with the CAKE whip product for a consistent curl across my hair. I would consider it a "gel-like" product and I use about a quarter-size dallop. I'm highly sensitive to smells that are too floral and this "vanilla cake" like scent is fantastic!

Finally! Something that works on my daughter’s spiral curls! Her curls are beautiful and it really helps with the humidity to keep the frizz down.
