this is really fun i’ve just started with the lion, it’s pretty time consuming. but i think it’s because i have no experience it’ll get better as i go on. it’s looking SO cute so far it’s a fun little craft. the tutorial videos are great and pretty easy to follow! the kit comes with a lot of good materials!

I'd never heard of needle felting until stumbling upon it accidentally. With some some patience and some good meds, this hobby may be for you!These are the first things I've ever made and dang are they cute! Super easy instructions and it honestly felt easier to learn by physically doing it than reading those. A couple youtube videos in and I felt like I had a good enough grasp on the concept. I made them in the order of the first photo. Pug first, then beagle, pomeranian and collie last. Definitely felt like I got better with each one.The only complaint I have is that I ended up running out of wool for the 2 long haired dogs. But I actually had already bought a separate kit with extra wool and more tools to go along with this set, so it worked out.If you can - save yourself some energy by getting a multi-needle tool, it saves a lot of time. Save any extra wool you don't use from the short haired dogs for the long haired ones (black/white).

Everything arrived in perfect condition within 3 days of ordering. I would've given this kit 5 stars, except I think that for the price they could've easily included a couple of finger protectors. I think most people stab their fingers, so if you don't already have protectors, you should definitely get some to go along with this kit. Other than that, you can make do with what's included. I also did buy a handle for the needle and some replacement needles. The handle was helpful, but not completely necessary, and I didn't end up breaking any needles, so the extras were another unnecessary purchase. There was enough wool for 2 cats (I only made 1) and enough whisker wire for 1 cat with a little left over.The instructions on the paper that came in the package weren't very good, but watching the recommended video was very helpful, especially if you've never felted before.This was my first time needle felting, and it was pretty easy to do, except that I have very shaky hands, so the really tiny pieces (ears and tail) were harder for me to do. It's kind of a "tedious" craft, but I imagine that once I get better at it, it'll go faster and the results will be better. I'd recommend it mostly to adults, but I could see careful, patient kids (maybe 10 and up?) enjoying this, too.(Edit in 2023: I see that the kit is much different now than when I purchased it. You get multiple cats and a ton of other equipment. The kit I reviewed had one cat, one small foam block, wool and one(?) needle. I don't remember how much it cost, but it was definitely under $10. The larger kit looks like a good deal, especially if you know you're going to do more than one short project.)

I've wanted to try felting for years and was daunted by gathering all the supplies, so when I saw this kit by Truslin that included all the supplies for a budget price, I decided to give it a try and I am very happy with my felted dog. Instructions came in the package but I needed to follow along with the video every step and I'm glad both sets of Instructions were available. It's really pretty forgiving because if it looks off then add wool and keep stabbing until it looks correct. I did have to cut off the ears and reattach them because they were placed too low on his head at first and my result is a bit different than the booklet but I really couldn't be happier with him! I plan to buy some little eyes to add to the little guy and definitely want to keep felting and get better because all my friends would love to have a little felted dog of their own. Very great product !!!
