Delicious but very expensive
This is a review for Yuzu Juice Powder (50g).The powder is delicious and has a lovely sweet-tart quality and powerful citrus scent/flavour. It feels like a high quality product. It's doesn't combine easily with liquids, but adding a tablespoon into a high-powered smoothie maker alongside other ingredients seems to work well - lovely with frozen raspberries and a milk alternative. I can also see the powder having lots of other potential uses: I think it would be an amazing addition to a shortbread or sable biscuit, or a great way to add a little zing to spring vegetables. I'm keen to try exploring its wider uses once my new kitchen has been completed and I have a hob/oven again! The main negative is that the powder is very expensive. However, if I find sufficient uses for it, I think I actually would consider buying it again as a luxury ingredient.

Delicious!
Whilst this may be a bit pricey, this is the best Yuzu product I’ve come across! I’ve been using it to make jellies for my baking and it’s absolutely delicious.

Tastes good, but pricey and no instructions
I’ve loved yuzu on the few occasions I’ve had it, so was really excited to be offered some powder to review and have a chance to experiment with it at home. The first thing I will say is that this is a seriously expensive ingredient - currently priced at £16.90 for a 50g bag. And I have no doubt it is a premium product. The manufacturer is keen to point out that most yuzu powder is made from peel, whereas this powder is made from yuzu juice. There is a strong and extremely sharp citrus flavour to this powder which was very potent when added to a glass of water. However what is very frustrating to me is that there are no actual instructions or suggestions whatever as to how to use it, beyond photos of hot and cold drinks and some kind of meat cooked some way with salt, pepper and yuzu powder. Given that yuzu is not what I would consider a common ingredient in the UK and the cost is so high, it would have been a really nice touch to have a couple of recipes available or indeed just actual instructions for how to make a drink with this. Normally I am quite an experimental cook and would be happy to mess about and learn through trial and error, but with a premium ingredient I do not want to waste any of it. It also means I don’t feel like I am able to accurately judge this product since I am not entirely sure how it’s intended to be used.

No taste
The media could not be loaded. I wanted to try this Yuzu powder as it was shown added to water to make cold drinks. I wanted to add it to bottled water to make the bottled water more refreshing and tastier. However, despite adding 2 heaped teaspoons to a half a glass of water there was not much taste and the powder did not completely dissolve despite a lot of stirring.I also added some to a bottle of water and again there was not much taste and as can be seen from the video there was lots left undissolved in lumps despite vigorous shaking.I would accept that I may be doing something wrong but there were no instructions regarding the quantity of Yuzu powder to use or any special techniques for dissolving it. I did not try hot water because I wanted to make cold drinks on the spur of the moment.Trying a dab of this Yuzu powder on my tongue it tasted a bit like sherbet. For the price I expected something better. There is a little pouch of something or other that needs to be discarded, I think.
