Good size, great sound.
I use them as satellite speakers in a surround sound TV system and they are doing a great job

Impressive standard monitors at an accessible price
The bass driver in one of my Control 1 speakers was beginning to malfunction so I was delighted to be able to upgrade to these speakers. They still fit the original wall mounts I purchased years ago for my original now long defunct Control Pro units. The performance is excellent as expected from JBL.

High quality in a confined space.
Ceiling mounted in a somewhat confined space, (a residential boat), but still give high quality sound and good separation. As expected for a compact speaker, a bit lacking in bass, a decent subwoofer overcomes this for me. Don't go nuts with the mounting brackets, they work well with normal hand tightening of the collars, no need for tools (except a screwdriver on the screws, of course) or brute force. Overall very pleased. Priced about right IMO.

I've never heard so much sound from such small speakers
(Update) I am taking off one star, as whilst the speakers are still excellent, JBL Support is terrible. 6 months in one of the locking rings for the wall brackets snapped, it's a pretty poor design. JBL Harman Support as linked on the support page for this product simply refuse to support any speaker purchased from their Amazon Store. I just wanted a new small plastic part but they took great lenghts to tell me if I wanted support I'd have to go back to Amazon. Now to be fair Amazon were great, they offered a full return and refund of the speakers, but replacements were out of stock so I'd be left without speakers. So instead they offered a partial refund and I could keep the speakers, I used the refund to source some better brackets. The rest of my review still stands, but just be aware if you buy these you will get no direct support from the manufacturer, and you should keep this in mind for any products purchsed from the "JBL Store" on Amazon. Original Review--- I'd used the original Control Ones many years ago, I was always impressed with what these tiny monitor speakers could do. Was buiding a new system for my study and a NFM made a lot of sense as it's a mid sized room and I was going to be spending most of my time at my desk working close to the speakers. What a joy these speakers are, of course there isn't any deep bass due to the cabinet size...I thought I might have to put a sub under the desk. But after listening to them they don't need it for my application. What bass is there is tight and precise, the top end is revealing but not harsh. Putting them on the provided wall brackets and the soundstage is strong, vocals and instruments seem to be their biggest strength with a transparency I've never heard before at this price point. Build quality is great, these are rugged little units and would survive a lot of abuse, the spring clips are a bit of a let down for a professional application but make no difference for my use case. Overall they are just a great do anything speaker....and a bargain at this price...I can't think of another speaker at this size and price point that would sound better. Their clarity does demand a decent source, it reveals artifacts in lower bitrate streaming very easily, they are also mid/low sensitivity so a decent amp is recommend (though they work pretty well on my modest 25W RMS Linn amp) They also sound better after a brief running in period at moderate volume (in priciple I was always a bit of a disbeliever of "running in" but these certainly got a bit more blanced at lower volumes after they had been used for a few hours at moderate volumes) Great small speaker, with a big sound at a small price....they are very unfussy about placement, one of mine is tucked into a room corner and it didn't change it's sound signature at all.

Amazing full range sound reinforcement
These speakers are amazing value for money. I've used them as surround sound peripheral speakers on my 5:1 home cinema system, the full range frequency sound is excellent.

Full throated
I'm using these as surround speakers in a 5.1 ch system. Their clarity sharpness and power are all significant upgrades on what they replaced and they've added a lot to favourite music as a result. Recommended, especially if you're on a tight budget.

I use these speakers for my desktop computer. I listen in front of my desk which is very near. The speakers are a little big(5.25"), but acceptable. And these speakers can be placed in horizontal, so they can be placed under monitors horizontally if you have monitor arms, which is a big plus for my desktop setup, I have dual monitor setup and the monitor will not block these speakers. As suggested from other comments I bought a fosi audio amp TDA7498E 160w x 2, the result is not so good. If you listen in front of your desk, you do not need a 160w amp, I can only turn 10% volume at most and the sound is already very loud. Also it has noticeable background electric current noise from the speakers, which is not acceptable. I purchased a second hand nuforce icon amp from ebay instead. This amp is maybe 10 years old, it can output 24w at 4ohm(JBL C1Pro), but it is really enough for listening from desktop. Actually I did not turn more than 50% of the volume. Though the nuforce icon amp is very old, it has almost no background noise, which is much superior than the fosi audio amp. Personally I also think the audio quality is better, too. I also has a CamBridge audio DacMagic 100 dac, connected to my computer. The combination of DacMagic, Icon Amp and JBL C1Pro is really good. They produce fantastic sound. Both DacMagic and Icon Amp are very old products, currently you have more choices at low price. But please purchase qualified dac and amp, not the DIY ones, or from unknown companies, which may not be reliable. Do not look at the numbers, such as 160w, you may not need such a powerful output for near field listening. I think at most 30w amp from any big audio companies should be sufficient for desktop listening. Update 7/23/2023: After more than one years of usage, this pair of speakers is still a great purchase for computer, no complain at all. The weight of the speakers is not heavy as other wood solid speakers, that is a good plus for me since I am using a standing desk which has a loading limit, I do not want a speaker which is even heavier than the monitor.

Good speaker. Nice sound however they should mention that its a passive speaker and you need to buy amplifier to play it.

Exactly as expected, great for small home-studio recording and mixing. Those looking for more regular music-listening, more bass-heavy speakers should probably get something else. You can get good, almost transparent performance out of the JBL’s Control 1 Pro. Trebles are good thanks to the new and improved tweeter. Mids have a fairly wide spectrum that is both defined and tight where it should be. Lows are limited (as expected) but present nonetheless. Physically the speakers are beautiful, look very pro, and the rugged molded enclosure houses magnetically shielded transducers, making the Control 1 Pro well-suited for use with video and computer monitors (or other magnetically sensitive equipment). Considering that these are one of the most compact monitors you can get under $200 (pair), compared to its immediate competition, the results are pretty impressive. I'm really happy and satisfied with them for my small home-studio! BUT, again, if you just want them for regular music listening, particularly bass-heavy, then you may be disappointed.
