Arena was recorded around the world in 1984. It was taken from the video album of the same name. This was the original Duran Duran in their pomp: Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes & the 3 Taylors. 10 tracks, 7 of them hit singles performed in front of full houses of screaming fans.They kick off with the number 1 "Is there something I should know?" & continue to give the fans what they want, i.e. the hits from the first 3 albums. They enjoy themselves. The 'hits' are augmented by 3 of the best, album tracks namely "New Religion", "the Seventh Stranger" & "the Chauffer", before closing with "Carless Memories".This album is the showcase for the original line-up when as young men they conquered the world. More of a 'best of live' than true live album, but the songs work without the videos!
