Brilliant book for children ...and adults
Brilliant book. My profile name in Amazon is Ibn Sina - since Amazon started! I adopted his name for my Amazon profile because I had learned about his remarkable achievements, and admired his approach to knowledge, which he saw as an act of worship. Every time there was a problem he could not solve, he would go to the mosque, pray to God for guidance, and many times, eventually he would find a solution to the problem. He has authored incredible number of books on variety of subjects . He also would stay awake at night pondering about problems and questions of creation. I was delighted to see this book has been written for children - it is important for all children of all faiths to appreciate the contributions from all civilisations, not a selective teaching of history, as if there was no contribution from Islamic civilisation - selective censorshop of history. My daughter has been taught about Ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Romans in primary school, and I bought this book to teach her about contributions from Islamic civilisations to development of Mankind. I recommend you read this first before you read it to your child, as you will learn so much yourself (as I did). Wonderfully illustrated, and written to capture the imagination of children. I really hope the author will write about other influential figures in Islamic civilisation, and that this project continues beyond- I also bought Ibn Battuta book as well which was also excellent. Don't want to give too much away about Ibn Sina's achievements, but suffice to say, he was a genius well ahead of his time, and just to share one of his achievements, he was father of medicine - His Canon of Medicine including details of ailments and surgical procedures was standard textbook of medicine in the middle ages for centuries. May his soul be blessed for his contributions to Mankind.

Educational both for men and women
Worth every penny. Even though I'm an adult and this is a book targeted at children, regardless I feel I learned something about a historical Muslim figure that I would otherwise have never heard of. VERY inspiring! Yet again history has shown that Islam produces only motivational & beneficial people to mankind.

Des images magnifiques!!
Ibn Sina est très peu connu dans le monde occidental, mais il est par contre un des penseurs fondamentaux dans le monde islamique. Ce livre montre avec des images magnifiques la vie et l'oeuvre de ce génie.
