The Visual Guide To Extra Dimensions: The Physics Of The Fourth Dimension, Compactification, And Current And Upcoming Experiments (A Fourth Dimension of Space)

This is a wonderful set!
I ordered this for my son who just "graduated" from the first grade and is passionate about all things 4D as well as the Platonic and Archimedean solids...this is what he begged for as a reward for moving on to the 2nd grade :-) I have enjoyed reading it to him...it is by no means a children's book! It is written clearly and the illustrations are AMAZING! This has replaced his old favorite on his bookshelf...Daud Sutton's Platonic and Archimedean Solids...at least for the time being. Here's what the 7 year old has to say..."This book on the extra dimensions is the best one ever! I love the higher dimensions. The pictures in this book are cool and really help me see how the 4D works! Thanks for writing such a great book!"I have to add that the illustrations in this 2 volume set alone are worth the price of the books!!!

This should be considered as a reference book on 4th dimension
These two volumes of "The Visual Guide To Extra Dimensions" are excellent in the field of extra dimension. Dr Chris McMullen gives a detailed mathematical as well as graphical explanation in discussion of fourth spatial dimension. The two volumes, as mentioned also in the other comment, keep distance from common spiritual discussions and remain fully on scientific grounds.Should fourth dimension gain a serious role in science in future, these two volumes should be considered as a reference book.

A little gem.
Excellent book for people interested in understanding higher dimensions. As the title says, the guide is visual, involving little mathematics. A little gem, along with the other books on the topic written by Dr McMullen. Let's hope it continue to be in publication for years to come.
