Super Lightweight. Extreme Comfort. Well worth the price!!!
I'm a Police Officer (Patrol) and am on my feet 8-10 hours a day. Prior to this job, I spent 10 years in the Army and have worn virtually every boot made. The Tactical Research Maxx8 is by far the most comfortable, best-fitting boot I have ever worn. Break-in period was short, about 5 days. This Boot seemed to fit loose at first, which worried me, however as the Boot wore in, it conformed to my foot and I progressively cinched the laces tighter and now it fits like a glove. There is a seam inside the heel of the boot that traverses across the Achilles Tendon which rubbed and was somewhat bothersome for a day or two, but it smoothed out as I continued to wear them. As I stated, they fit like a glove. The cusioned sole absorbs an unbelievable amount of shock and its incredibly light weight makes me feel like I'm walking on a cloud. The boot is still sturdy enough to where it provides ample support for my arches and ankles. Even after wearing these Boots for 3 weeks, I notice everyday, the strain and pressure they have relieved from my back, hips, and knees.I have found these Boots to be true-to-size... I wear a 10.5 Regular Width (US Men's) in both Bates and Thorogood boots and ordered the same size in the Tactical Research Maxx8. I have suffered from lower back pain for years, have a medium-high arch and my feet are such that they tend to swim in a Wide Boot, but fall over the edges of the sole of a regular width boot. Not so with these... It is like they were make just for me.

Good Boot, comfortable arch support and insoles, bites ankles?
So, I bought this boot for work. 12-14 hour shifts, lots of movement on concrete, and possibly some defensive tactics involved. The boots are comfortable. Insoles are excellent as is the arch support. Shoe fits about to what is ordered. My issue is that when you first get the boot, before they are broken in is that they bite your Achilles tendon, or a little right above it. I can see that on the inside they added leather support as well as the outside, but the inside bites a little. This goes away after the boots are broken in for the most part. Every now and then you can feel it start to rub uncomfortably. That's my only gripe with the boot. Not everyone has this issue, but I suspect bigger size feet/people do.4/5.Would recommend the 6inch version instead. That boot is 5/5. Same brand. Belleville tactical research.

Perfect boots!
What can I say other than what the rest of the reviews have already said? Need service boots but want them to feel like the most comfortable sneakers? Get these. I have wide feet and and usually wear between a 10EE and 10EEEE. I bought these in 10EE and they fit perfectly. No break-in period. Just put them on and went to work. On my feet all day and there was no discomfort at all. They feel like they are months old already. I stopped by a store on the way home and as soon as I got out of the heat and into the a/c, I could feel the cool air penetrating the boots within seconds of entering. That's what i call breathable! I had a pair of the Belleville Khyber boots for years and loved them but needed something with more cushioned soles. These boots are 100% perfect for me.

Very comfortable but not durable
The boots are very durable but the leather is peeling at the top of the boot where it rubs the pant leg. These have only been used occasionally and already showing damage. I would find a different boot for duty or regular/heavy use.

Try again.
Based on other reviews sounding like these run large, i bought my actual shoe size and regret it. They arent tight, but they dont have a comfortable amount of room for me. I normally get one size larger. These did require a bit of break in time, their Khyber boots didn't and i kind of wish I'd gotten them again. But where these shoes are great, is the sole. These hands down have the most comfortable sole of any shoes ive ever worn. They also have a bit of a rock to them, as in the front and back of them curve up, similar to "Hoka One One" shoes. The toe cap area, im not sure how well it shines as they scuff pretty easily. So it wont matter if they shine up well or not, given that I've only worn mine for about a month and they're not looking so great.Overall, id say the only thing these have going for them, are that the soles are amazing. They fall short pretty much everywhere else.

CRAZY COMFORTABLE
I'm a corrections Officer and I'm on my feet for at up to 16hrs non stop and these boots fell like walking on a cloud. They are designed for corrections officers so they provide the ankle support I need but the pain I have had in my last boots (Reebok) gave me from the time I stood up in them. Note, THESE BOOTS ARE SIZED SMALL! I'm a woman and wear a 7.5 in women's, I ordered a 5.5 in men's and they just do fit so order a half size larger than you usually wear. As far as comfort, these are the most comfortable boots I've ever put on my feet! OMG!
