Strong, yet manageable on kayak
Bought this years ago, but reviewing now. Today my fishing partner lost 2-30"+ salmon off his similar clip because the tip on his is the straight wire kind, it does not have the interlocking hump that this has. That got my attention, so I grabbed mine to test it by putting my foot in the big loop and pulling the small, closed loop upward to try to get it to pull out/fail. I pulled as hard as I could with one hand and it held fast. Excellent! I have loaded it with 2 good sized salmon plus a halibut without the slightest risk of failure. Ditto with double big Lings and 8 or so big rock fish. This uses 3/16" SS wire, and I have often considered getting a 1/4" SS wire version, like many of my buddies use, but those are much stiffer and more difficult to use, and heavier too. Because this is strong enough, I will forgo the heavier stringers. I prefer the blunt tip.

You wont loose fish with this stringer unless you blow it
The Storm Heavy Duty Scuba Divers Fish stringer is a solid piece of ocean equipment. West coast kayakers looking for something to string your rockfish and lings on; look no further. Overlap of the main bar and clip is plenty sufficient and the welded joints are solid.

Great stringer. Better than the old rope stringer with multiple clips.
I previously had a fish stringer with multiple clips and nylon rope. I messed up and lost it while kayak fishing. So I saw this type of fish stringers before. It was cheap so I thought I'd give it a try. Works great. No worries about soaked rope like my previous stringer. This thing is instantly dry since it's only metal. The old stringer had smaller clips and to be honest, it was not the easiest to open the clasp especially when your hands are wet, cold, paddling for awhile, and your older like me. lol. This new stringer is easy to open, won't drip or stay wet like the old stringer, and doesn't get tangled like the last one I had. Wish I lost my old stringer sooner :)

Modified Loop Stringer
The media could not be loaded. I modified loop stringer by bending tip so it would hook and not come apart. Especially when I have a 20 plus lb. Salmon on loop. Without doing this it will easily pull open. Also the small loop easily slides through gills and out the mouth. The picture showsA hump in the steel at the tip to keep stringer from opening. But mine was just a straight shaft as you can see.

Great Stringer for My Purposes
I use this as a fish stringer for Salmon, Sturgeon, Rockfish, Lingcod and other large fish while fishing from my kayak. So far it works great.

It's a great tool to have when fishing
It does what it says it does, keeps the fish that you catch. I towed a 20lb lingcod and some other small rockfish behind my kayak for a mile in big swells and this thing never came undone. It's a great tool to have when fishing, especially off of a kayak.
