ID COOLING IS-40X V3, The Best Cooler For Any Small PC Case, Especially The ANTEC VSK2000 U3
Just bought a second one of these ID Cooling IS-40X V3 coolers for my other multimedia computer connected to my projector. It's an FM2+ PC with an AMD 7850K processor (95W) TDP as it has a built in R7 250 GPU.These are excellent coolers, it's fitted in my ANTEC VSK2000 U3 slim case, i have professionally drilled a hole matrix on the top cover to allow direct airflow right over this cooler, theres a 15mm gap therefore theres no air turbulence noise and it works very well indeed, at a typical 20c room temperature the CPU idles at 31c and maxes out at 65c under full load, therefore it is doing a perfect job of keeping this system cool, and that's with the CPU at 4.3GHz (1.368v) the PC has 24GB DDR3 corsair vengeance 2400MHz ram and it keep that cool too.At the back of the case i have fitted 3x40mm Evercool fans to extract warm air out of the case. The fan on this cooler is of high quality and has no motor noise at all, all you can hear is the air passing through the fins therefore it is very quiet in operation, even at full speed. This is a bonus as i use this computer for FLAC playback going in to my Sony STR-DB940 QS amplifier.I built a second PC using this cooler as i wanted to play Trackmania Nations ESWC and Worms3D on my LAN network (Via WiFi) connected to my bedroom PC with my son, along with Serious Sam First Encounter. The fan is PWM controlled which is a must with my motherboard (ASUS A88XM-PLUS) as it will not function properly with standard 3 pin fans on the CPU fan header.I did a lot of research on this and its the only CPU cooler i could find that will fit in the ANTEC VSK2000 U3 case and offer great performance, apparently this is beating the very expensive noctua heatsinks for cooling performance which is great news, also noctuas so called "HTPC" coolers are still way too tall to fit in these cases, you need at least 12mm of clearance from the top cover to allow for proper airflow to be drawn in from the top of the case.I got this cooler to easily fit my FM2+ ASUS A88XM-PLUS motherboard by using the AMD FX stock coolers "clip on" bracket, all i had to do is shave 1mm off the AMD FX stock coolers bracket and put 3mm foam under the fins to give tension to the baseplate, it works perfect, im very impressed with the performance of this. The fan overhangs the heatsink to allow cooling of the VRM area, in all instances on various machines ive tested this cooler performs 8-10c better than the stock AMD FX 8350 heatpipe cooler, which is very impressive since the AMD FX stock coolers are rated for 125W TDPAnother bonus of this cooler is the fins are not too dense, (close together) meaning you dont need to ramp up your fan to full speed. This is a great product, highly recommended by me.

Good at cooling
This cooler is good at its job. it is better than what I had before which is the AMD stock cooler. Just like it said it was slim and compact and didn't interfere with the RAM on my motherboard. However, a few months after use the fan on the cooler started making a grinding noise. Despite this, customer service was great and sent over a replacement quickly and free of charge.

Pretty good but not for high end cpus.
I bought it to cool an i7 8700. When the cpu hits it’s 65w TDP. The cpu ends up hitting 100 degrees. Even using arctic mx6. Use for low tdp chips. i5 or i3. Never higher

Not the best if you have a better chip
