Better than the first one.
This holster holds your shears better than the first one. Only downside is the clip isn't all that great. That isn't a huge deal because you and swap the clip out for a universal holster clip or MOLLE clip

Great product for EMS
I am a FT EMT and use this holster with my X Shears every shift. For someone who’s prefers X Shears instead of Raptors this is a must have. As many have pointed out before, due to their design, X Shears can be difficult to get in and out of some EMS pants. This holster solves that problem perfectly by holding your shears securely to your belt for easy and quick access when needed. Must have!

Update: HARD PASS
Updated:Since my first review I've encountered a couple more problems that have revealed this holster to be a huge failure that will leave you holding your **** when the **** hits the fan.Yes ,the screws still come loose - locktite fixes that. But the elastic o-rings that keep the shears snug wear out incredibly fast - as in 3-4 months. I've had to replace them twice. When they inevitably fail, your shears are held in by gravity only.A bigger issue is the belt clip - the holster will invariably snag on a seatbelt at some time, and when it does, the clip bends, rendering it pretty much useless until you unscrew it from the holsters, hammer/reform it back into shape, and then reattach it. Even after you've done that, once it has twisted once, it will never hold its form for long. Had a major trauma call the other night, and as I went to pull the shears out, then entire assembly came off my belt. This was the third high acuity call I've been on where the holster screwed up. Never again.I love love love my X Shears, and recommend them to everyone. But this holster is a dud, has cost me two sets of shears, and has failed repeatedly when I needed it the most. I simply cannot in good conscience recommend these.AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Original reviewOrdered these for my X shears - was sent an obviously pre-used return. Put my shears in and put on my belt. Little did I know but the rear mounting screws were super loose and it proceeded to fall of on my very next call - losing both the holster and my shears - while on a call with an over the side major trauma. So there I was, holding my pecker with no shears on a patient that I needed to cut clothes off, with nothing but the belt mounting clip and screws remaining on my belt. To say I am unimpressed would be an understatement.

Nice design..
Nice design as the sheers won't poke you but, the cheap metal belt clip bends out and causes the holster to come off your belt. Thankfully, I had a scissor keeper on them too or I would have lost them completely.

Much better than gen 1
Solid, well built, and secure. The design for the retainer mechanism reminds me of HSG pouches and performs just as well. If you're really concerned about screws coming loose (they haven't yet), then put on some locktite. That goes for anything on your kit that can be snagged

They are sturdy
I use them in place of a knife.

Achilles heel of this product needs improvement
One of the side locking units broke off, when I didn’t notice, rendering the retention useless, currently overseas right now so I can’t get another one for a VERY long time.
