Yes. Although I didn't purchase this for me, I use it when working from home while on calls with clients. You can hear the machine, but it is a slight humming sound and not enough to disturb your co-workers or phone conversations.

Q: When the pedals are moving, is it hard to keep your feet on them? I see no foot-straps, so do your feet go flying off when the pedals are in motion?

Your feet is rest flat on the pedals while it in motion....so it does not fly off.
