Can't even play with this toy due to jamming. Piece O' Junk.
I bought two of these toys for my 7-year old nephew. The extra was so he could share with friends to play along with him. So we opened the first one and put it together. It jammed almost instantly. You couldn't play a whole two minutes without it re-jamming. I wish I had seen the bad reviews before I made the purchase. We are returning both toys for a refund.By the way, online this toy costs significantly more than what it would have cost at Target or Walmart if they had any in stock. We were a little desperate because it was sold out everywhere and cabin fever was starting to set in. Do yourself a favor - don't bother. Your kid will be more heartbroken because they can't play with the toy.

Does not work properly
First item bought last year works great and out shoots Nerf guns. Just bought a second one and the darts barely make it out of the barrel.

Not as easy as it looks. Kids may have issues. Good for conscientious, nerdy adults.
Interesting how so many nerfers love this and yet amazon reviews this harshly. There's got to be a reason.First off, Amazon sells this for double of what Target does. Weird capitalism. I had a $20 Target gift card so...yeah.To address the jamming, first off people may think its because the darts aren't inserted all the way. I doubt it. If you look at how its designed, if a dart is sticking out, it wont rotate properly and you can feel the pressure. Maybe a small number of cases due to this. However, I detected some consistent jamming after trying the following:Removing the drum. Re-attaching the drum. Immediately slam-firing (holding down the trigger and racking the pump). If you do this, you reliably get a jam with two in the chamber. That's an easy fix, the barrel is huge. Stick a dowel or long screwdriver down and dislodge one, adjust the drum, then the other. What I suspect is if you immediately slamfire, your drum isn't aligned with the gun, so only partial air pushes the dart. Thus, the dart is stuck. Rack another dart = jam. To avoid this, cycle the drum forward manually after installing to help align, or simply don't slam fire immediately. The second case where a jam occurs is when you baby the gun for slamfire. Basically a weak pump. Some kids may not be strong enough to handle the gun so they will slowly pull the pump. If you rack fast, it fires. Try pulling slowwwwwly while holding the trigger. The dart will only go halfway down the barrel. The next dart will jam.Just DONT slamfire, and you'll cut down 99% of your problems.Basically, if you consistently load the darts, rack and fire, the gun should be consistent. Kids aren't consistent. They're erratic so the gun will be erratic as well. They're better off getting a smaller, simpler dart gun.As for the rest of the gun:I have no problems with the power, its plenty strong. Slamfire is a cool feature; just go hard and fast.I had trouble removing the drum at first. Found the hole in the back, cut a q tip in half, insert and the drum holding pin pops right out.The back rest is weird as hell. I believe you can adjust the resistance to move by tightening the screws. However, its pretty useless and unwieldy for an adult. Remove the 3 grip screws, take off the grip, loosen the lower screw and the rest should pop right off.I tried removing the front to lighten the gun, but its looks odd, so I'll leave it on.This gun would be epic if it the pump action worked in the front.

Great For nerfers!!! SOOO WORTH IT
The 40 capacity without reloading is so nice nerf wars cambined with the front loading drum this makes it nice for something like an HvZ event. The one thing that was not good was good the arm brace, it spun around so I just took it off. This gun also shot about 10 FPS harder then namebrand nerf guns .Over all this blaster is so worth it!

Jams a lot - do not buy this
After using the toy for five minutes, the gun jammed. There isn't a clear way to remove the darts, so you have to rip them out to clear the chamber. Ripping them out sometimes destroys the darts.Every 10 shots, this toy jams. It's surprising this product made it past the testing phase at the company.

Trust me, don’t buy this product
Of course you should not buy this product. I’m actually surprised it’s still allowed to be sold. The darts fall out of it if tilted down and, yes, the darts get jammed with no way of removing them. You just have to rip them out.
