Franchi Seeds of Italy"Loofah Luffa Cylindra" Seeds

growing these as they are doing it on gardeners world this year, I have 3 good plants out of a pack of seeds, never grown them before but it’s interesting and will make a change from my usual pumpkin seeds. Been happy with this seed brand in the past, and I’m liking the look of the plants so far, writing this after 1 month of growth so far. Started on windowsill, and just hardening off plants now outdoors and going to put them in hottest spot in the garden. It’s now 3 months on and I have 2 flowering and making fruits (photo added), planning to give them as Christmas presents if I get them to good size. 4 months on I have 1 loofah 5 inch’s long(see photo).

If I recall correctly, 10/12 sprouted, and 10 were eaten by slugs... As a fairly lazy gardener one of the two remaining are still alive and growing in my lounge along with a sizable pepper plant. I basically left the pots/seeds to grow giving them as much time as possible and one of the dude sprouted.

Seeds seem okay but I’ve had some trouble germinating them. More in the pack would be good considering a single luffa has loads of seeds

zero germination despite trying as per seed packet instructions and with the damp kitchen roll trick. disapointing.

Planted seed last month but no sign of life. just yet.

All grew really well inside and looked like they'd do well but even in my sun trap garden they are struggling outside it might be me ill buy and try again next year.

6 out of 8 seeds germinated and growing well. Very excited to see end results.
