Bought this for my 10 year old son, he is able to read and understand the book. It has helped him improve his chess playing.

The media could not be loaded. If you are starting to get into chess seriously, this is really the only book you need to take your game to the next level. Here, you will learn numerous strategies that will allow you to dominate in every phase of the game, from the first move to the last tricky position needed to induce that final, decisive checkmate.Individuals who have either been playing for years or who just started learning about the different pieces and what they do will find plenty to interest them in this book. There are in-depth discussions of various techniques and when you should employ and avoid them. If you crave knowledge that you can immediately apply to your next game with one of your rivals, dive into this guide that’s easy to read but packed full of vital information about this addictive and extremely fun pastime.

After completing the textbook and workbook exercises from 1 Move to Multi-move Checkmates as both Black & White, I did rather well. As I went through the 3 moves and more required moves, I found publisher errors with the board layout as well as errors in the answer section with illegal moves or used pieces not on the associated layout exercises. Also, I discovered when they wanted you to mate in 4 moves, you could mate in 3 moves. I therefore dropped my rating to 4 stars instead of the 5 stars initially assigned. I highly recommend this fantastic book, but the student should be advised there are some mistakes with layouts and answers in the back of the book. We are all students first. I consider this a second book to the Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess book for beginner to intermediate chess players. I also recommend the hard copy format as I bought.

I liked how it was written because I think it is pretty clear and organized.I also liked that it is clear in the book that anyone can play chess, you don’t need to be a genius, just learn and practice enough. The book is very complete and touches various topics I found interesting. I think it’s a good idea to read it and take down notes of what you find the most essential.All in all, The Chess Bible is a must read for those who like chess.

I flipped through the book (with my magnifying glass), in a brewing rage. The book itself is excellent information. It could have been printed better with a Xerox machine. The letters are in a very tiny font, quite grainy, and printed so poorly the words literally look light gray. The board illustrations are decent. I would not complain if the“book” was $15-$20. But at $33, a buy should receive a readable 113 page book. I took the photo 6” from the page. What good is the information if you can’t see it well. Hope this is helpful.
