Keeping it simple
Extremely effective and very comfortable in the hand, reminds me of my grandmother.

Strong and durable
Durable being the key positive here! It needs to be durable for the purpose I bought it for. High "marks" for this product.

Sturdy and Effective
The fairly high price of this item made me hesitate to buy it but I finally broke down and made the purchase. I am glad I did. This rug beater is solid and will not break no matter how much force you use to clean rugs and upholstery. It's very rewarding to see how much dirt and dust is removed even after vacuuming. I also use it on my couch cushions and pillows. Obviously, the work needs to be done outdoors unless you don't mind dusting your entire house afterward.I gave it four starts because the wrapping on the handle came apart after the second use but it doesn't affect the integrity of the beater.

Works well
It's lightweight and good. It's made pretty well. Though it will splinter and crack if used frequently or intensely.

Very good rug beater
I was looking for a rug beater for several years until I found this one. I like the size of the paddle and the handle. Even after vacuuming a rug, I can use the rug beater and get a lot of dirt and dog hair out. The only challenge is to hang the rug to properly beat it and that isn't the rug beater's problem. Would recommend to anyone looking for an alternative to vacuuming rugs. I now also use it on our dog beds, indoor and outdoor mats and runners.

Egyptian approved
Way cheaper to buy one of these on the streets in Cairo. But alas I live in Florida and it's kinda expensive. Works like it's supposed to. We would hang carpets out of balconies and stairwells and smack them with this growing up. I use it because I have fluffy pets and it helps get hair and other stuff off of bedding and furniture.

Rug beater that will get beach sand out of my outdoor rugs.
I just returned from a trip to Lancaster, PA (Amish Country) and this was shown to me at an Amish house where this is a Amish Rug beater. I tried to find one to purchase and could not find until I returned home on Friday and found one on Amazon, so I ordered on Saturday and received it tonight (Monday). I have lots of rugs at my beach house and usually use a broom to beat the sand out of my outdoor rugs, so I think this is ideal. Can't wait to try it.

My husband is a believer now
I bought this because my husband was taking our rugs outside to get the dirt off. He wasn't sure if this would work and even said we could use it for decoration. But then he used it and was convinced that it works well.
