I'm not a ping pong pro, but my husband and boys play a great deal and most of our paddles have been beaten beyond their useful life. The packaging and wrap of this new paddle are fine, the zipper case is interesting (although, I see it going missing at our house) and the plastic coating on the paddle leave it feeling refreshingly new (once you get past the toxic off-gassing smell of the plastic). The sides, fresh and new, have a "sticky" feel, that my husband is convinced is nearly cheating.As for play, my son declared the new paddle (against one of our older, more basic Joola paddles), to be a "game-changer." He may have beaten his dad for the first time ever. The tackiness of the paddle allows for a great deal of spin (although we are not certain this will hold up over time). The heft of the paddle is a little more than our other paddles, but both my husband and son adapted quickly and thought it felt great, feeling they had plenty of control.I think the wood on the handle isn't particularly smooth, which would bother me a bit, but my boys didn't think it affected their gameplay at all. In the end, while it smells like a horrible Chinese knock-off, it plays better than any of our paddles purchased to date.

What a difference a good paddle makes. The amount of power and spin is great. It has made playing ping pong that much more fun. It takes a few games to get used to the control but after that its amazing.

This is a very nice paddle and suits my game (which consists of using both spin and power) very well. It is very responsive. I love it.

Value for money and a great Table Tennis racquet

Not a professional but a pretty good pin pong player. This paddle is well made, feels nice in my hand, has a nice weight to it and feels well balanced. I've always had pretty good spin and speed in my game so really haven't noticed if this paddle actually helps improve those skills. It's still a nice paddle and the cover is nice also.

First of all, Full disclosure. My regular paddle is a Hugo Calderone. One side rubber is butterfly to energy. The other side is DHS hurricane. This is a $300 setup. While this paddle is nowhere near as good as my regular setup, it's a very, very good paddle. It's got good grippy rubber and gives you a good amount of spin and control. It's about 70% as good as my regular paddle. But that's very good at this price point.
