Beautiful colours and shapes
The colours are absolutely gorgeous, and I love that these are completely different shapes to your standard magnetic tiles. The price is really good compared to the other Connetix sets at just £1 for each piece, and most of them are larger than the normal square tile. They are expensive, but I haven't seen any other brands making these shapes. Plus they are compatible with other brands.

Great magnetic tiles
These Connetix Pastel Shape Expansion Pack with 48 Pieces is is a great set of magnetic tiles. The colours are so fun and bright. These look great just like all of their other lines and are very durable. These were perfect for my 3 year old, and even my teenagers were excited to play with these fun colours.

Fun expansion pack
This is an expansion pack for Connetix magnetic panels (e.g. the Connetix Pastel Starter Pack) with a range of additional shapes. You get eight each of six different shapes in a variety of different pastel colours. If you have any other packs in the product range, you will know that these are quite large panels and when we started to build with them, we found that the magnets are strong for largely 2D arrangements, but not always strong enough to reliably hold together more complex 3D structures, particularly where the panels are at an angle other than 90 degrees. 2D structures are much easier to make. These panels are fun to build with and do spark the imagination but if you don't have the basic shapes (squares etc), there are some limitations. An 'Inspiration book' is included, but the structures shown within it seem to cross the Connetix product range and it is not clear whether any of the designs in the booklet use the parts contained in this set. Also, although the booklet is intended for 'inspiration' it might have been useful for it to include instructions for how to make some of the structures shown, and information on what packs are needed to do so. The magnetic panels are solid and attractively coloured. If you already have other sets in the Connetix range, then this may be a worthwhile addition. (Note that the photos included with the review are all of structures made using only this pack.)

48 piece expansion Connetix pack
This is the expansion pack that is made to go alongside other packs in the series. There are 48 pieces in the box comprising 6 different shapes.Even with this pack there seems endless shapes, items and pattern you can make. There are magnets on all the corners of the shapes and the sides are slightly opaque and see through and each are beautifully coloured.I think the sides are made of very. thin plastic film and have a crinkly sound when handled. They seem strong and although the magnets don’t seem strong enough to hold a complex pattern together there is no lack of enthusiasm when playing with them.OK, they are quite expensive but I reckon they will give hours of repeated play, they give insights to geometry and provide an educational element as well. This set is recommended for anyone with existing sets who want to expand or anyone for coming to Connetix for the first time.

My toddler LOVES these
My toddler has really loved lego and I wanted an alternative that could still allow him to explore his creativity. This is an amazing set of magnetic shapes that lets him create new shapes, understand colours, numbers and symmetry. I would 100% recommend this if your child is about to turn 3. The only caution is the triangles are a little pointy, so if you could supervise your child while using this, that would be best.

Worth the cost
I am reviewing a 48 piece Connetix extension pack in pastel.I was very excited to see these unusual shapes which are shiny and nicely coloured, feel sturdy and do not scratch easily. The magnets are strong, but not so strong that the wrong pieces are attracted to each other causing structures to collapse in on themselves easily. These pieces are clearly good quality and this is reflected in the price which works out at £1 each. Since this is an expansion pack there are not many things that can be made just with these pieces, you need to combine it with a pack of simpler shapes such as squares and rectangles.Highly recommended.
