Definitely a very convenient paper shredder and it’s doesn’t take up too much space.

It does all the job for me. I needed to shred old documents with personal information. Great thing is it cross cuts. But it can only take ONE letter size paper at a time. Also I have to mention you have to fold in half nicely as the slot is almost exact the size for half fold letter size paper. And you have to put it into the feed nice and straight. So if you need to shred a lot. This might be a work.You need to empty the bin after shredding about 10 sheets.

The shredder does its job quite well if it is chewing up a single sheet, not as well if asked to shred 2 pages. Not only is it harder to turn the handle with 2 sheets but as you can see in the photo, portions of 2 sheets being shredded at the same time are sometimes full of holes but still readable.With this shredder you can dispose of are sheets of paper up to and including the standard size (8.5"x11") widely used in the U.S., as well as CD discs and credit cards.Discs are not shredded, they are split into 3 pieces, as you can see in the photo below. I don't have an unused credit card to put through the shredder so can't report what it does to them.Impossible to imagine that anyone going through my trash would be able to put the shredded checks and documents back together again if properly shredded.But this shredder is not electric and takes some effort. A single sheet is easier than 2 sheets. You can make the job even easier by tearing off the portion with private, personal information and shred it, throwing the remainder in the trash.The instructions that come with the shredder are in Japanese. However, it is obvious what needs to be done so you should have no trouble.Except when putting the handle on the rod. Since the rod appears to be threaded, the inclination is to screw the handle onto the rod, but that doesn't work. Investigating you will see that the hole in the handle has a flat side and that the rod has a flat side. Once you know that it is simple to put the handle on, just make sure the flat sides are together.Knowing that it is easy to attach the rod, just make sure that you match the flat side of the rod with the flat side of the hole on the rod.

I had a big electric shredder. While it was easier to use, I hated how loud it was. This is quiet. I don't often need to shred more than 1 or 2 pages at a time anyway.

Affordable and simple to use. Is nice. Aside from from being unable to read Japanese. But all in all, is good :)

I've had several shredders in the past. All were electric. The first shredded in strips, so I replaced with a cross cut shredder for more security. Unfortunately, both the first cross cut shredder and its replacement eventually wore out. Not wanting to keep spending money replacing them, using the energy to run them, and the space they take up in a very small office, I opted to shred by hand (yes, scissors). After shredding about 18 inches of stacked papers (file cabinet purge), I decided that I had better things to spend my time on and began to look to see what options were out there.My search found these hand cranked manual shredders. I spent a lot of time researching the options, reading reviews, comparing features, etc. I decided on this model. I have to say I was pretty pleased and felt a bit like a kid with a new toy when I began using it. This is FAR better than shredding with a pair of scissors any day of the week and I no longer have shredding calluses from all of the cutting. My experience using this shredder:Pros:Takes up little space. Fits easily on a shelf or in a small spot.Manual. No power needed to run.Quiet.Shreds in very tiny pieces, there is no chance anyone is going to piece shredded documents back together.Clear base makes it easy to see when to empty it.Cons:Top heavy, often tips while using.Lid is not secured to base and comes off during use.Hand crank is not secure and comes off frequently during use.Can shred only one sheet of paper at a time effectively. Multiple sheets, or card stock do not shred correctly and must be put through multiple times to get thoroughly shredded.Overall, I like this shredder. It serves my needs and is a good compromise between an electric shredder and shredding by hand. I am happy with my purchase.Oh, as for CDs, I found that this little machine does a great job. It munches right through that plastic like nobody's business.

This shredder is perfect and exactly what I expected and was looking for. It was actually even better quality than I was expecting with the blades being pretty heavy duty. I knew I would only be able to fit one sheet at a time, but that's perfectly okay as the hand shredder is nice and compact, and I don't need to worry about it catching fire like when the electric shredder I used before had a faint burning smell and made me extremely nervous. The handle DOES seem a bit flimsy, I will say, but it's nothing less than what I expected. As long as you're not trying to spin it like your life depends on it and you need to get buff arm muscles, then the handle should be okay.

自宅で使う為に購入。ディスクとカードもカット出来たら良いよね！と思って買ったけど、その分、重くなってる気がする。バランス悪い。よく考えたらディスクやカードなんてめったに切らないし、切ろうと思えばハサミで切れるしなあ。失敗。切れ味は良いと思うけど、説明書どおりコピー用紙１枚がベスト。２枚切れないことはないけどハンドルが段違いに重くなる。はがきは１枚が限界。２枚切ろうとするとこいつかあなたが壊れます（笑）

薄めの封筒なども処理できますが、少しでも厚い封筒になると半端にしか切断できないままトレイに落ちてきますので本当に薄い紙向けです。(厚めの封筒を処理したい場合は一度ハサミで開いてやる必要があります)ハンドルは他の方のレビューにもある通り、固定式ではないのですこし傾けただけでもスルッと簡単に抜けてしまいますが回している間に抜けるような事はありません。しかし紛失しそうな心配があるのでこの部分は固定させて欲しかったです。蓋の部分はカット用の刃が埋め込まれていてとても重いです。処理中は少し手で抑える程度でハンドルを過剰に勢い良く回さない限りはズレるような事はありません。ですが、重心が頭にあるのでトレイ部分を少しでも傾けるとひっくり返るのには注意が必要です。もう一つの注意点は蓋は裏返すと刃が剥き出しになっており、素手で触るのはかなり危ない造りになっています。紙くずがくっついたままになるので、掃除したい場合は100円ショップなどの商品でもいいので小さなデスク用ほうきを用意した方が無難です。

値段相応の作りで、急いで裁断したい人は絶対に買わないことをお勧めします。逆に、少しずつコツコツゴミを処分することを考えるならば十分有用。よろしくないと感じる点は以下２つ。・ちょっと熱い紙を入れるとすぐに裁断できなくなる・ケースと蓋が固定できていないので手回ししている最中押さえつけなければならない基本、長期計画で毎日少しずつ片付けたい人など向け。ある意味、片付けの習慣化を身に着けることを目指す人にうってつけです。
