Premium Black Shock Cord 3mm Diameter – 1, 2, 5, 10 & 25 Metre Lengths (Bungee Cord) – Made in UK

I'm using this chord to refurbish some high quality Sngupak Ionosphere tents. These are 2 part backpacking tents in which the "roof" is essentially a tarp staked down with bungee rope. The original shock cord ripped in a gale after I used some cheap Chinese tent pegs that had rough edges..Compared to the original Snugpak rope: The diameter of the venture zone rope is slightly thicker by less than a millimeter. The elasticity is very similar though it takes a little bit more force to stretch the Venture Zone rope The inner core uses 6 strands of synthetic material while the Snugpak uses 12 strands of elastic band material. I can with determined force break a 12 inch piece of the Snugpak by pulling on each end, but I could not break the Venture Zone rope using the same amount of force. The outer material seems very similar to the original Snugpak ropes and should be hard wearingThe rope cut cleanly with sharp scissors. It was easy seal the ends neatly with a lighter.Anyway, these tents are getting put up in Shetland so I'll soon know if this was a bad purchase...UPDATE: I just came back from a several months of backpacking around the Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland. This rope performed superbly well in gale force winds. The 12 inch pieces I cut have very little to no external damage. There isn't a single strand that needs replacing. Good product.

Quick delivery. I ordered this to repair perished cord in 20 year old tent poles. Fitted perfectly, and threaded through poles by pushing cord through hole in poles. No need for threading tool. Cord is of high quality.

Bought this to replace elastics in tent poles. Liked the length as we had some long poles to re thread. Quick delivery happy witht he quality would buy again.

Good product as described. Adding to description: Un-stretched it is indeed 3mm diam. Exactly 2metres as ordered. It stretches to it's limit of 100% extra (my 2 metres stretches to about 4 metres), then it will not stretch further. It's quite a strong elastic - by which I mean it will support a load of about a couple of kg at full stretch (estimate - I measured it very crudely). Comes new in a sealed retail-style "Venture Zone" pack, not cut off-the-reel style.

Perfect! Used to restring the bit on the front of our walking packs (where you tuck clothing in when walking) brilliant, exactly as we needed for purpose

Good to know some things are still made in UK. Item arrived promptly, (ordered in the evening and delivered the following afternoon! ) looks good but have not used it yet.Would recommend to others and will buy again when necessary.

Not cheap but then it is labelled premium! Excellent strong replacement for long tent poles. Arrived earlier than expected and saved the day getting old tent ready for festival. Expect to last longer than original as higher quality, well worth paying extra and very satisfying purchase.

Bought for a capsize line under the hull of my husband`s dinghy, but unfortunately , not thick enough. He reckons that was his fault !!
