Is it necessary to keep it refrigerated?

It will have a little longer shelf life if you refrigerate it after opening. If you plan on using it all relatively quickly, refrigeration is not necessary.

so is this a tallow soap base?

It is not a soap base. It is something that i add to my soap base (melt & pour) to help keep my hands from getting chapped from washing my hands so often. Great stuff, but because it is beef tallow I recommend that you keep it refrigerated when not in use / i actually keep it in my freezer when i am not using it.

Is this easy to get out of the bottle? Do you have to heat the bottle first? I’ve always had jars and the tallow was too thick to pour.

I just heated gradually in microwave until I could pour out
