Why did you pick this product vs others?:These strips work beautifully for some cove lighting, got it hooked up on a wled controller nice and easy. Light is smooth without visible light spots on the wall, I went way brighter than i needed but it's amazing (picture has them up to about 50% maybe, generally run around 15% brightness)

EDIT: Switching review from 3 to 5 stars due to the amazing and diligent customer support offering to rectify my experience themselves cutting out the middle man (Amazon). I am already extremely satisfied with other lights I've purchased from them (WS2815 IC LEDs) and their immediate call to action with experience has confirmed why I will continue to be a loyal customer.While this gets an A++ for brightness (see photo of LEDs as sun is beaming in the window), the segments and pixel density are extremely lacking. The obvious disappointment was getting a used product. The light reel was warped from heat, there were burn-ins on the tape, and the data direction was swapped (had to unroll and wire the side wrapped in the middle, when usually the data direction is on outside of reel).Back to the segments- as someone that uses other IC LEDs in specialized cut segments, maybe I’m spoiled (?) or maybe it’s a bit misleading to call these IC. If I was to cut a 6” strip, I’d only have access to two colors as the segments that you can control are about 3” long. Doesn’t make for great transitions and limits physical customization.Again, loved the brightness as that’s needed for my project. Probably the brightest FCOB I’ve ever used.

Beautiful color. I installed them into a ceiling rail in our entertainment center. It took planning but turned out beautifully.

As I have come to expect, no problems with this BTF-Lighting FCOB WS2811. In fact this is the second one I have purchased. At 24V the light is very bright and works perfectly with my WLED controller. The adhesive is of above average quality (but I always add more). The down side to 24V is that there are less individual groups but for my needs the increased brightness and only having to feed power in one end more than makes up for that.

What is not stated in the description is that once you cut the strip, the remainder of the strip becomes useless. My setup required that I cut the 16.4 section down and then splice in another 12 feet cut from another 16.4 strip utilizing the BTF Lighting connectors (I could not use the tails attached to the strip otherwise I would have a section in my diffuser with no LED’s) The first 8 inches or so illuminated white when I connected the length to the first section with the power actually being off. After turning the lights on through the app, the spliced section would not turn on. After compressing the metal tabs more and more the lights eventually came on with the first strip but would not respond to color changes in the wled app that controls the lights. The lights would only illuminate with the color it originally started with in the app.I contacted the seller and they did respond to my message but did not answer the questions I asked. They just would give me specs on the lights but were no help with fixing my issue.Eventually the spliced section stopped working altogether. I spent hours setting this up in my garage and am very disappointed with this product. Now I am out a few hundred dollars and wasted hours of my life that I will never get back.

Ive been buying these LEds for a long time now. They are great for the money. The brightness is always perfect for my custom projects. Easy to use and work great every time. Never seem to have an issue with signal.

As programmable strip using COB technology goes, this WS2814 strip is a mixed bag. I like that it is 24 volts, which means I can daisy-chain multiple strips and not worry about the end of the strip dimming or the ends being different colors because of voltage sag.But I may be spoiled to using programmable light strip (including BTF's WS2812b COB strip) with densities as high as 144 LEDs per meter. For this WS2814 there are fourteen or so LED's grouped together per chip, so the pixel resolution isn't nearly as smooth as other programmable strips. What does this mean? it means that every 70mm of strip will be the same color. If you like using animation patterns with lots of smooth motion and quick color changes, this super-low pixel density won't look all that smooth.I tested this WS2814 24v strip using BTF's SP530E controller and it was easy to wire up. However it was a bit tricky to configure the controller using the BanlanX phone app. See my attached picture for how I got it to work -- it may save you some time. The WS2814 chips are (I believe) 32-bit so it won't work with controllers that only do RGB (24 bit) color. Luckily the SP530E and SP630E can handle both kinds.Overall, I like the build quality of the strip and it is pretty bright for 10mm wide COB strip. But I can't see using this for most of my projects because I prefer a higher pixel density.
