Salomon Men's X Ultra 3 Climbing Shoe

These are the sixth pair of this style of Salomon shoe that I have owned since 2008 and I cannot fault them at all.Lightweight, robust, waterproof, functional, well made are a handful of words and phrases that I consistently use when asked about them.I am normally a UK size 9 but have gone for a size bigger as I've learned over the years that they are quite a neat fit.In relation to this specific pair, they tick all of the boxes in terms of quality, comfort and style. A slightly different colour than what has been available in previous years but I've found they go well with jeans as well as walking gear.

When I put them on the for the first time I thought they were too tight across the width and that I had a pinch point on the right shoe by my little toe. After feeling inside the shoe I took out the insole to get a better idea of what was pressing against my toe. I failed to find anything, put the insole back in, put the shoe back to find the problem had disappeared. The problem was the insole had not been fitted correctly. I have put about 50 miles on these shoes now and have no complaints, I have broad feet and the shoes are a snug fit but reassuringly comfortable and supportive. Would recommend.

Excellent quality of product. Would have given 5 stars but for the length of time it took to ship.

Did my research online and brought these after reading a few reviews. Quite expensive but so worth it. I do a lot of dog walking and these have lasted me all winter with no issues at all. Waterproof, hard wearing, easy to clean and nice and warm. Can't recommend enough. Once washed they look as fresh as the day they arrived. Should last for a good few years yet. Just buy them!

I usually wear size UK 9.5, however, for all my Salomon boots and shoes, size 10.5 best fit me. It is slightly bigger but fit just nice after I had warmed up and hiked for a few kilometres (wearing a summer hiking socks). The X Ultra 3 doesn't need any break in at all. I ran (and hiked) a 4km cross country trail with this shoes straight out of the box. Ascended and descended a few moderately steep hills. Light. Good grip. Reasonable impact absorption. Comfortable. The quick lace secure in place throughout the 4km run.

These are probably the fourth pair I’ve owned.They are a little expensive but the quality and comfort is great, so worth spending the money on Solomon’s.I think my last pair lasted 4/5 years. This is everyday use!

These shoes are superb. Great fit and very comfortable. A brilliant price as well. The ‘quick lace’ system works really well and keeps the shoe firmly on your feet. I’d give the shoes themselves 5 out of 5.The only problem I have is once the laces need replacing the problems begin. My dog got hold of the shoe box and wrecked it and then managed to break/bite one of the shoes laces. I therefore needed to replace the lace system on one shoe. I managed to buy a replacement lace system on amazon and once received that when the issues started. I’m short, very difficult to fit and doesn’t hold tight like the original lace system.I would think carefully therefore before buying these becuase of the lace system and this is only why I’ve given them a 3 score

I bought these for my partner and he absolutely loves them. He has Salomon walking boots so we knew the fit was going to be good for him, Salomon are slim fitting footwear but you need to go up half a size. He wears them all the time. Will definitely buy again..as long as they don’t fall apart after a few months!
