Don't come in extra small
Very well made. I have small hands and ordered a small but it was way too big. The extra-small in the gray version fit much better. These Palmyth gloves are incredibly well made.

Amazing mitten glove combo
My first pair was missing a magnet, but upon exchanging my 2nd pair was flawless. They are comfortable/warm and the fingerless glove is great for maintaining dexterity and still having the mitten to keep your fingers warm when you're not doing anything requiring your fingers.

Fishing Gloves aren’t Water Resistant?
Ice fishing… me? You must be kidding!! I’m a Georgia girl, so why would I order these mittens? My husband and I are scheduled to visit Antarctica next year, and we’ll experience not only cold temperatures but snow, rain, ice, and I want my fingers free to manage my zoom dslr camera, as well as kayaking and rides on RIB boat. My ski-expert husband has already advised mittens to maintain maximum warmth of fingers. These mittens have a flap covering all fingers and another one which covers the thumb. A magnet effectively holds the flap so it is out of the way, leaving fingers free for movement. The body of the glove is fleece with leathery patches on the palm. There is even a pocket built into the inner wrist area for a disposable heating packet. My only concern when ordering was in sizing. According to the chart, I should have ordered the Small. However, based on glove purchases previously, I typically wear a men’s medium, mostly because my fingers are long and thin. Even a women’s large is too short for me. I just couldn’t order an Small, regardless of what the chart stated, so I ordered my typical Medium and I think they are perfect.I have two concerns about these mittens: 1) nothing in the listing states the mittens are water resistant. Obviously when submerged, water will enter the flaps, but are the fleece portions water resistant? I know I can buy products to waterproof them myself, but it isn’t an inexpensive option. I had just thought that mittens designed for ice fishing might be water resistant, even if the description omitted this feature. 2) there are no straps (or firm elastic) on wrists to keep a snug fit. I happen to have some elastic/velcro straps that will work, though.By selecting a slightly large size, I’ll probably be wearing some waterproof glove liners underneath these mittens. There will be plenty of room and will resolve my problem of waterproofing the fleece.I do think the size chart for these mittens is faulty. I’d suggest buying your typical size and ignore the chart. Next, fishing gloves should be at least water resistant. For these reasons, four stars.I hope you found this review to be helpful. Thanks for reading!!

Look Elsewhere
I write this review with a good basis of knowledge. In 1996~ I bought a pair of rag wool Thinsulate convertible mittens. They were amazing. All these years later the elastic is starting to stretch out so I looked into getting me a new pair.I found these mittens and they had great reviews so I figured I would try them. I bought them to use at work so I can still use my fingers for dexterity and on my phone when needed. I wore them for 2 hours today and realized they are pretty bad. The convertible thumb constantly comes off. Extremely annoying. I had to pull the thumb covers back over a half dozen times in 2 hours. At the end of that 2 hours, my thumbs were numb. The convertible top that covers 4 fingers is very thin, cheaply built, and has weak elastic to hold it in place. It was in the 30s for temps and the gloves just weren't warm.If you need convertible mittens, which I still need a good pair, look elsewhere. The quality on these are not great for the price.

Nice functional gloves, but could be warmer
I had an older pair of gloves like this from years ago that were so so warm, but eventually got holes in them. These are a pretty good replacement though they are not quite as thick and warm. I feel like with the feature of having the mitten part that folds back, the gloves themselves could be a lot thicker and warmer. But that being said, they are still pretty warm and the functionality is great. I love that there is a magnetic part to hold the mitten flap back. My last pair had velcro so it got full of lint.If you are a woman, go smaller on the sizes. I have small hands and got a medium but wish I would have gotten a small.Overall these are fantastic gloves. They are still warmer than 80% of other gloves and mittens I have and are really functional. $30 seems like a pretty reasonable/typical price for these. I think they'd also be a good gifting item.

Decent quality, convenient magnets, a little scratchy
My hands sometimes get really cold in the winter and these Palmyth convertible mittens should help. The magnetic holders are nice to keep the covers out of the way when I need to use my fingers. The thumb cover is great to have. The palms and lower finger sections have good grip material.I was almost 9.0" around the knuckles (middle finger 3.25") and sized up to XXL. They fit well and the XL would have definitely been too snug. The phone touch on the thumb is iffy. Sometimes I was able to do some swipes, but aiming was difficult. They're a little scratchy at the top of the cuff where there are seams. change.Weight is about 1/4 lb for the pair.

Nice for cooler weather
These gloves are great for outdoor activities in cooler weather. I say cooler, because it depends on your definition of "cold" weather. These will work well for ice fishing in a shanty, or when the weather outside is cooler. (In my opinion, this means temperatures around the freezing point)I often ice fish in temperatures nearing 0 degrees Fahrenheit (and below), and as long as it's not too windy, I'll do so on the open ice without a shanty. These gloves will not hold up to those temperatures. However, these will be great to have on when I'm running out of the shanty to check my tip-ups. It's a great concept and these will work well on the warmer days on the open ice or while in the shanty. These will also do well for some outdoor work, walking the dog, or other activities where you like to have easy access to fingers for any reason.
