This is definitely one of the best things I have bought. I use it with a Nikon D750 and a 24-70mm lens. The combination is pretty heavy and at first I wasn’t sure if it would take the weight. I have been using it almost daily for two months now mostly for macro work and it works great.

I recently purchased this to upgrade from my original gorilla pod. I used it on a recent trip to Paris, and was not disappointed - Easy to carry or add on to any bag, this gorilla pod did a good job of holding up my Sony A7Riii camera, even with a large lens like the 100-400. It takes a bit of practice, depending on where you set it up, to get it to be completely stable and not shift, but it is extremely versatile. One drawback is the limited height, you are dependent on whatever is around you - and when there’s nothing, your shots are all ground level. The gorilla pod has its place in a photographer’s toolkit, but there are definitely sacrifices compared to a travel tripod, and especially against a full-size tripod.

The shoe mount is durable. This works for uneven areas or when you need a second point of view from an odd spot. It’s a very talked about item for vlogging and some can make it work well others rather have a monopod or a basic tripod.
