Extra Large Trough 140cm x 30cm x 30cm

I love these. I have bought about 10 over the years.They wear/weather beautifully over time (takes about a year in my experience, so my newer ones look considerably newer !). Not cheap but this is a quality product. They arrived well packaged, but not annoyingly hard to strip off the packaging at the same time.They comfortably hold around 80l of soil, and some of them briefly contained some beautiful flowers which I planted in them. I say briefly, as we have a puppy - so now we have no flowers, and some of the larch troughs have beautifully chewed corners !! But they've stood up well to the onslaught !

I ordered this to go outside a shared front door to a Georgian terrace - just to smarten the entrance a little. It's solidly made and is quite heavy. Although it doesn't need treatment (as it's larch which is fine to go outside all year round) I applied some Osmo larch wood stain. Now it looks absolutely fantastic! Only complaint is a dent on the front of the planter, which isn't noticeable after I cut off the damaged wood and applied the Osmo - so maybe teh carriage could have been a bit more careful.

I've given this 5 stars because if used for the purpose they were built for*, I think they are among the best quality wooden troughs you can find.Its pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for, and this is top, top quality.Delivery was speedy, they dispatched as soon as the order arrived. I paid for express delivery and they did not disappoint. The fact that it arrived late was due to the fault of the courier (DPD) and not Fat Leaf.*I tried to convert these into hydroponic/aquatic plant troughs and made a pigs ear of everything (an expensive experiment gone wrong!). Leaks everywhere. But that's my own fault, and not the manufacturers.

I have bought a range of these planters to surround and hide the edge of my decking. They are stylish, robust and weather nicely over time. I would suggest you line the bottom with membrane as the slats are wide apart. Also position before you fill as they are very heavy when full of compost.

Expensive, but well made, smooth, hard-wearing larch wood. Bought 3 now.

i love this, i have stained it so it looks even better and will last longer. My only issue is with the delivery people who left the item on the doorstep. I was at work all day and wen i got home luckily it was not stolen. But paying so much for a product to find it on the door step is unacceptable.

Looks great and does the job. I bought one initially and was so pleased I have purchased three more.
